The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in residential real estate transactions, estate planning, and estate administration. Experience with commercial transactions, such as asset and share sales, would be of benefit as well to a qualified applicant.Core Responsibilities:· Managing files from start to end for residential real estate and wills and estates· Drafting and reviewing standard real estate transaction closing documents· Liaising with all internal and external parties involved· Drafting wills, powers of attorney, and personal directives· Preparing court applications for estate administration· Potentially working on commercial transactions· Preparing reporting letters to clients· Performing general administrative tasksRequirements:· Graduate of an accredited Legal Assistant and/or Paralegal program· 2+ years of post-graduate experience is preferred· Comprehensive knowledge of legal terminology, conveyancing procedures, and surrogate rules· Exceptional verbal & written communication skills· Ability to follow instructions and meet strict deadlines· Capable of managing a high volume of tasks· A courteous and professional demeanour· Familiarity with PCLaw is an asset· Familiarity with Unity/DoProcess is an assetWe are a diverse team of motivated legal professionals looking for another member who wants to grow with us.
