Job Description

As such, we welcome talented individuals that have a variety of perspectives, backgrounds, and industry experience who will contribute to the success of our One Parkland team.Position Title: Recruiter - 6 month termTeam and Location: People and Culture – Calgary, AB; Montreal, QC or Toronto, ONPosition Summary:As a key member of the Talent Acquisition team, the Recruiter will act as a recruitment expert for several key Parkland business units through understanding functional hiring needs, position specifications and search requirements. The successful candidate will manage full-cycle recruitment for a variety of positions across Canada and will partner with the Talent Acquisition team to bring in top level candidates for entry-level to senior-level positions.Key Responsibilities:Lead, facilitate, and complete full-cycle recruitment for a high volume of roles in Parkland’s Commercial division, including candidate sourcing, resume screening, candidate interviews, background checks, preparing offer packages, negotiating offer details, and preparing onboarding employment packages.

  • Provide outstanding guidance to our business leaders throughout the entire hiring process incorporating business needs to develop robust recruitment strategies.
  • Proactively source talent and identify opportunities to develop new candidate pools.
  • Champion our company and corporate brand to attract highly qualified candidates.
  • Partner with other Talent Acquisition Advisors and hiring managers to conduct market analysis and understand industry research to develop robust sourcing strategies.
  • Source passive candidates through direct channels, employee referrals, and relationship building.
  • Identify opportunities and recommend solutions to improve talent acquisition service delivery.
  • Approach each day with a "roll up your sleeves" attitude and a proactive, data-driven approach to find root-causes to problems and identify ways to fix them.
  • Track, analyze and report on key recruitment metrics.
  • Support onboarding and orientation of new employees to Parkland.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 2- 4 years of full-cycle recruitment experience, ideally in a corporate environment.
  • Ability to handle a high-volume of recruitment and work well under pressure.
  • Highly articulate, well-developed, effective written and verbal communication skills used to gather information and engage potential candidates interest in joining Parkland.
  • Experience sourcing passive candidates utilizing various channels and tools.
  • Excellent negotiating skills coupled with strong ability to handle objections effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Strong organizational skills, with project management experience.
  • Highly consultative approach; able to inform hiring managers and candidates on the talent acquisition process.
  • Evaluate market trends and use data and insights to facilitate decision making.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a high sense of urgency, determination, and tenacity.
  • Bilingual in French and English.
