Job Description

You’re not an expert in one or the other That’s ok! A subject matter expert in both is not required day one! Support for this role will come in the form of internal expertise and specialized consultants as needed, what is required is a strong willingness to dig in…. a go getter with the eagerness to jump in and take on new challenges.Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with AER OneStop tool and the Alberta Electronic Transfer System (ETS)
  • Familiar with oil & gas facilities permitted and approved under Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA) and Oilsands Community Alliance (OSCA)
  • Land Agent or Land Administration Certificates would be an asset
Experience:
  • 3+ years experience in a regulatory and/or land role (or 3+ years base knowledge with a strong willingness to learn)
  • Experience granting and acquiring 3rd Party Land Agreements
  • External stakeholder consultation experience with landowners, communities, and government agencies
  • Knowledgeable in Government applications and submissions software
  • Familiar with key regulations that impact the gas processing, pipeline and energy business
  • Experience in developing or maintaining management systems processes and procedures would be asset but not required.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
  • Regulatory primary point of contact for NGL operational and project staff conducting activities in the Pioneer 1 & 2 Off-gas (P1&P2) facilities and the Cochrane Extraction Plant (CEP)
  • Act as the internal regulatory SME for IPL’s non-operated Redwater Olefinic Fractionator (ROF) facility
  • Manage and maintain the facility and pipeline licenses and regulatory approvals for new and existing assets
  • Act as primary contact and manage positive relationships with AER, Alberta Environment and Parks, local Municipal governments and select federal agencies unless responsibilities are delegated to a subject matter expert
  • Ensure timely and accurate annual submissions for regulatory conditions, unless delegated to a subject matter expert where it is determined more effective
  • Monitor pending regulatory changes through regulatory relationships, industry associations and in collaboration with corporate center function SME’s
  • Support subject matter experts on regulatory change management
  • Coordinate in conjunction with Operations and Assurance teams a regulatory internal auditing plan and annual regulatory compliance calendar.
  • Monitor area structure plans and developments around NGL assets and advise appropriate NGL leadership of emergent risk
  • Self-perform or manage 3rd party land consultants to complete land requirements for NGL facility and pipeline assets
  • Monitor Community events and propose which events IPL should have presence
  • Collaborate with NGL leadership, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs on ensuring IPL’s interests are appropriately represented within the communities it conducts business
Hours:Mon-Fri full-timeOccasional out of town travel (10%) within the province is expected (Cochrane, Redwater and Fort McMurray)Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for this position as a condition of employment.
