Job Description

The correct candidate must be well experienced with installing, measuring, and servicing heavy and light shower enclosures and railing systems. Experience with general residential and commercial glass service is also required. We are offering a full time permanent position to the correct candidate. We are a great growing company with room for future promotion within our company. Work is based mostly in BanffJob dutiesThis position will perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine type and thickness of glass, frame, installation procedure and materials required
  • Measure and mark glass and plastics and cut glass using glass cutters and edging machines
  • Assemble, erect and dismantle scaffolds, rigging and hoisting equipment
  • Position glass panes into frames and secure glass using clips, points or mouldings
  • Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products on walls, ceilings or exteriors of buildings
  • Install, fit, fabricate and attach architectural metals or related substitute products in commercial and residential buildings
  • Install pre-cut mirrors and opaque and transparent glass panels in frames, walls, and exteriors
  • Replace glass in furniture and other products
  • Prepare and install skylights, showcases and aquariums and stained or other special glass in churches, museums, sports and other establishments
  • Repair, replace, and service residential windows, commercial aluminum doors and other glass supporting structures, and replace damaged glass or faulty sealant
  • Install bi-pass shower door systems, neo-angle showers, frameless showers
  • Install railings using various techniques including standoffs and shoe systems
  • May prepare cost estimates for customers or clients.
Experience required
  • Pay is based on experience and skill sets. If you are a general labourer looking to pick a career we will support you through an apprenticeship program.
  • Must have valid class 5 Canadian driver license
  • Must be able to legally work and reside in Canada
  • Must be able to pass a vulnerable sector background check
  • Must be willing to relocate to Canmore or commute from Cochrane/Calgary
  • Must be able to read and write in English

  • Stamina: Since being a glazier can be a physically-demanding job, those who take on this role must have a high level of stamina. Not only should they be able to stand, kneel and sit for long periods, they must also be able to hold heavy pieces of glass until they have been fully installed.

  • Teamwork: we are a team and that means having open and honest conversations when conflict arises, no gossip, and working together.
  • Reading comprehension: You must have good reading comprehension to read material such as regulations and contracts and installation notes
  • Critical thinking: To be able to figure out the best plan of action for each client, you must possess critical thinking to problem solve on the site and ask for help when needed.
  • Written, verbal and interpersonal communication: Given the vast array of clients you come into contact with, contractors, coworkers, management and many others you should have excellent communication skills.
  • Dependable: Considering the urgent nature of the issues that may arise in this field, and the high expectations of our clients, you must be very dependable and punctual.
Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $25.00-$42.00 per hourAdditional pay:
