Job Description

Representative, Transportation & Logistics - Projects - (2212449)The Opportunity:Are you a Transportation & Logistics (T&L) professional looking for the next challenge in your career Canadian Natural is Canada’s largest independent oil and gas producer and executes over $30 million in air, ocean and ground freight transport and oversees 60 thousand material shipments annually and could be the right fit for you!The T&L Representative is a key position that works with the Transportation and Logistics team to ensure timely and accurate coordination of transportation services for the Supply Management Projects team. Effective delivery of supplies and materials to our project teams is essential to Canadian Natural’s continued success.Key Accountabilities:

  • Support and Assist all Canadian Natural Project Business Areas with the coordination and management of transportation services including: trucking, expedited freight and heavy haul, project cargo air freight and ocean freight
  • Understand the fuel surcharge application, accessorial charges, ground, air freight and marine transportation costs and pricing
  • Work with logistics services and provide guidance for projects; advise buyers on proper use of INCOTERMS 2010 and assist with mobilization/demobilization of project vessel units.
  • Execute projects using LSD (Legal Land Descriptions) and DLS (Dominion Land Survey)
  • Oversee the Import and Customs process including: audit duty charges on imported goods, application of custom tariffs and the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System (H.S. Codes), determine the admissibility of imported goods and complete Canada Customs Invoices (CCI).

  • Job location: Calgary, Alberta
  • Shift schedule: 5x2, Monday - Friday
  • This is a safety sensitive position
  • *This is temporary assignment for a period of up to 18 months*
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4 years of related industry experience in Transportation & Logistics
  • Business or Technical Diploma, CITT (Canadian Institute of Traffic & Transportation) or P.Log (Professional Logistician) designation preferred
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to gather information, analyze alternatives, plan & develop recommendations to execute work in a value added manner
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to re-prioritize tasks quickly in a fast-paced changing environment through frequent interruptions and changing deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), ADP Open Invoice, E1, ComplyWorks & Maximo PD software systems
  • Knowledge of Domestic and International courier services, LTL, FTL, dedicated charter (inland, ocean & air freight)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Domestic and International documentation requirements including customs, duties, import & export shipments & Incoterms
  • Demonstrated ability to expedite movement of materials/freight from domestic and International origins exercising sound judgement based on assessment of cost, risk, availability of resources and business area requirements
