Job Description

Trico LivingWell:Trico LivingWell is a new older adult living community opening in Summer 2022 in Kingsland, Calgary. It is Canadas first Older Adult aging-in-place community pursuing the vigorously vetted WELL v2TM Certification from International WELL Building Institute – a premier framework and performance-based system for buildings with features that advance human health and well-being worldwide. Trico LivingWell offers a campus of care and services to independent living, assisted living, and dementia care accommodations respectful to individual rights, choices, needs, abilities and enjoyment.Job Summary:The Resident Experience Ambassador is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Executive Director and manages the Wellness Program Lead. The Ambassador is responsible for developing, leading, monitoring and modifying the overall organizational approach to the resident and family experience; and also responsible for the design and strategies for the Wellness programming. Responsible for establishing processes and surveys for achieving desired outcomes and metrics, including those required by standards and licences. The Ambassador communicates and collaborates with all departments to ensure all accommodation and hospitality services, care plans, recreational programming, and other services are well orchestrated and executed according to plans and expectations.Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the primary liaison for the Trico LivingWell community with residents, their families and the general public.
  • Assists the Executive Director and the management team to strategize and deliver exceptional resident experience.
  • Researches customer service needs, expectations and concerns, incorporating expertise from hospitality and healthcare services.
  • Develops and/or selects resident experience/service excellence education, training and reinforcement programs for colleagues, clinicians, and physicians.
  • Ensures that all services are provided in a manner that respects each resident’s physical, emotional and spiritual well-being and in accordance with the resident’s assessment.
  • Participates in community functions, and networking with local groups to generate awareness and strengthening the Trico LivingWell brand.
  • Develops annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Assures the Grievance program is compliant and meets all requirements.
  • Effectively promotes the Residents & Familys Council, including attendance at Council meetings upon invitation, Resident autonomy, independence and advocacy, including Residents rights and wellness.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree from a recognized institution in the field of recreation/activation, therapeutic recreation, wellness, gerontology, kinesiology or a related field
  • Certifications or training in gerontology, seniors fitness, Dementia/Alzheimers, wellness interventions, SmartServe, Food Handling and volunteer management are considered an asset
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in Resident Experience or Gerontology and one (5) year of leadership experience working with mature adults and seniors in a related setting. Previous experience working with seniors or in adult wellness programming is an asset.
  • Knowledge of community resources, service development
  • Execptional computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Strong leadership skills; experience managing staff and volunteers
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certification required;
  • A genuine interest and desire in caring for people and improving their daily lives by encouraging resident autonomy to preserve dignity and self-esteem;
  • Current (within 6 months) Police Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Screening;

Compensation & Benefits
  • Annual commission upon achieving Resident Experience goal.
