Job Description

Overview:POSITION OVERVIEWThis role is considered a returning seasonal position as outlined below. The successful candidate is expected to perform the Quality Assurance Technician responsibilities from mid-January until mid-May each year. The first two weeks of employment will include comprehensive training.Quality Assurance Technicians are currently managed within FBC’s 2 Quality Assurance Processing Offices - East (London ON) and the West (Calgary AB).ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • 100 % accurate data in adherence to QA established processes
  • Timely processing of Membership T1’s in accordance with CRA filing deadlines and current tax legislation
QAT AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
  • Ensuring FBC Products are completed in accordance with FBC quality standards and Government Tax Legislation
  • Verifying data to source documents provided by our Members, third parties and other departments within FBC
  • Analysis of Income Tax and Government Program (AgriStability) related information
  • In depth analysis of Specialized Enhanced Financial Statements
  • Contacting FBC Members and the Canada Revenue Agency by telephone and email
  • Updating of Member information using proprietary software
  • Assembly and mailing of final products when required
  • Working up to a total of 60 hours with overtime during April
QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience
  • Preference will be given to Post-secondary Education in Accounting or Business.
  • Experience working with income tax preparation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work over-time hours to meet deadlines
  • Strong ability to collaborate with FBC team, Members and third parties (CRA)
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to follow a process and meet deadlines
  • Willing to go the extra mile and stand up for the Member to win (perseverance, driven)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Disciplined approach
  • Ability to maintain speed and accuracy while often performing repetitive tasks
  • Experience in a Windows Environment along with a strong working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Excellent customer service skills
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Good standing with CRA including the ability to have a “Represent a Client” account with CRA
