We are Waterfront Optics Inc, an up and coming optical store located in downtown Calgary. We provide services such as sales of eyeglasses/sunglasses/contact lenses, eye exams, and contact lens fitting. We also have an on-site optometrist to provide assistance for patients with eye problems or concerns.We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our team of sales associates. The successful candidate will need strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with customers about the optical products we offer. Candidates will also need to be friendly and outgoing, have strong multitasking skills, and be energetic and self-motivated.Wage: - $17-20/hr. plus commissionExperience: - Previous optical or office experience an asset (1 year preferred) - Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment - Good basic computer knowledgeJob Responsibilities: - Carry out pre-screening tests and help customers select frames and lenses for their prescription. - Performing frame and facial measurements to ensure correct fit and positioning of eyewear - Performing repairs and adjustments to patients’ eyewear - Advise customers on the use and care of merchandise - Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise - Process payments (Insurance, cash, debit cards, and credit cards) and provide receipts - Check, maintain and order inventory - Stock shelves and maintain display areas - Perform opening and closing duties for the store - Answer incoming phone callsEducation: - High school diploma - Certified Optometric Assistant is an asset, but not requiredBenefits: - Staff parking space included - Vision benefits - Store discounts - Commission on top of base salaryJob Types: Full-time, Part-timeSalary: $17.00-$20.00 per hourAdditional pay:
