Intercare Team OpportunityPosting# 01-200-2235Issue Date: November 8, 2021Closing/Deadline Date: November 22, 2021 @ 8:00 amFacility: Chinook Care CentreDepartment: CARE SERVICESPosition: Staff & Visitor ScreenerStatus: Casual, TemporaryThis line is temporary for an undetermined period of timeLine#/Code (subject to change): SCREENER6CFTE: .4 (600-1400) *not benefit eligible*Rate of Pay: $20.00 per hour**There is an interview required** POSITION SUMMARY:**Primary responsibility is to screen residents, visitors and staff prior to entering facility**The Staff & Visitor Screener, under the direction and Director of Care and Site Administrator or designate, is responsible for ensuring that all individuals entering our Care Centres follow the required entry guidelines, meet and adhere to the safety protocols and provisions established by both the Employer and Alberta Health Services in order to help prevent COVID-19 from entering our sites. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Staff & Visitor Screener will:

  • Ensure that all individuals are socially distanced and wearing a personal mask while waiting to complete the Screening process upon entering the building followed by sanitizing for hand hygiene;
  • Ensure that all visitors (non-staff personnel) wanting to enter the building have been approved and scheduled to visit. If any questions arise in this regard, a Supervisor will be contacted to review prior to the entrance being permitted;
  • Ensure that all individuals entering the Care Centre properly and accurately review and sign off on the Health Screening questionnaire prior to entering;
  • Take all individuals temperatures prior to entering the building, allowing only those who have a temperature reading of 37.9 degrees or below to enter the building;
  • Inform those failing to meet any of the criteria outlined in #2 and/or #3 above that they are unable to enter the building and contact a Supervisor and or Charge Nurse / Scheduler should additional support be required;
  • Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrates effective communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to function as an effective team member with other staff, residents, families and the public.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language.
  • Mentally and physically able to perform duties as outlined.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to complete assignments in a safe and timely manner.
  • Demonstrates concern and interest in providing a safe and attractive environment for residents, families, guests / visitors and staff.
