Position OverviewNumber of Positions: 1Language: This role operates in English.Work Model: HybridAlternate Title: n/aAdditional Information:The work location for this role is flexible to Calgary, Guelph and Toronto.The Emerging Business Model (EBM) Tech team exists to deliver proactive embedded products that delight customers and partners in their moment of need. We design, build, and deliver digital first platform and services that enable data differentiated and hyper-personalized insurance propositions within ecosystem partners’ experiences. If you like the idea of engineering innovation at scale through digital, analytics, automation and contributing to a wide variety of next-gen integrated propositions, we think you’ll love working at EBM Tech! As the Scrum Master you will be a key stakeholder in the delivery of initiatives supporting the Emerging Business Models. You will apply scrum methodologies and disciplines while overseeing key project deliverables across multiple streams of work and working with various internal stakeholders to achieve results.Technologies you have experience with:

  • You have experience with JIRA and Confluence.
  • You have experience with Monday.com, Slack and Trello.
What you’re responsible for:
  • Identifying agile framework applicable for various projects and initiatives.
  • Advocating adoption of agile principles and ways of working including coaching stakeholders to support uptake.
  • Setting up governance frameworks, cadences and boards to enable the team to successful delivery.
  • Facilitating all scrum ceremonies such as standup, planning, review, and retrospective sessions.
  • Offering support to the team in managing the backlog and facilitating grooming and sprint review sessions to support incremental delivery of products or services.
  • Integrating change management activities, negotiating with key project stakeholders, and chairing project meetings.
  • Establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with all project stakeholders, including communicating plans and providing status updates to interdependent teams.
  • Participating in the planning process to align objectives with project priorities and maximize resource utilization and results.

To join our team:
  • You have 5-7 years of experience in Information Technology or a related business field.
  • You have a post-secondary degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • You have strong knowledge of project management practices and methodologies and successful project life cycle experience, including business systems expertise.
  • You have expertise applying well documented Agile techniques, including user stories, backlog tracking, burndown techniques, velocity, Acceptance Test driven development and Continuous Testing.
  • Having the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or equivalent certification is an asset.
