Together we make Calgary a great place to make a living, a great place to make a life.As a Security Systems Administrator you will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Corporate Security’s Security Systems, comprised of applications and network-attached devices, used primarily for access control and surveillance of City-owned buildings and facilities, and the Public Safety Network. Primary duties include:Maintain Security Systems; Manage back end applications and servers (application specific, and Windows and Windows Server Operating Systems).Perform database administration of back end data (Structured Query Language (SQL) Server and Oracle) ensuring accuracy of data maintain end-devices (firmware and configurations).Support integration´s that bridge communication between applications; may involve scripting in application specific Software Development Kits, or application coding (C#, C++, Java).Provide advice on infrastructure changes, ninstallations and capital projects and provide application support to end-users of applications. Troubleshoot device failures; and network, application and server related issues and respond to service work orders from Information Technology and Corporate Security Technical Operations.Install servers and workstations, and install and configure operating systems (Windows 10 and Windows Server Editions), System BIOS (firmware, RAID Storage), network settings and application specific installation requirements (drivers, supported frameworks, etc.).Responsible for tracking asset information, audit and log systems faults or performance issues, document process and training guides for clients.QualificationsA completed 2 year diploma in Information Technology, Database Administration/Management, Network Engineering, Network Security, Software Development, Telecommunications or related.At least 3 years related work experience in physical security, security system integration, or information technology.Technical certification in physical security systems are considered assets (for example Lenel Access Control, Milestone, Genetec CCTV, IndigoVision CCTV, AMAG Access Control or C-Cure 8000/9000 Access Control).Professional certifications in networking, server or database administration, examples such as: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), CompTIA A+, CompTIA Project+, CompTIA Server+, Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) are also considered assets.Working Conditions: Mainly an office environment with occasional site visits.Pre-employment RequirementsA security clearance will be conducted.Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.Union: CUPE Local 38Business Unit: Corporate SecurityPosition Type: PermanentLocation: 6685 114 Avenue SECompensation:Pay Grade 9 $35.96 - 48.11 per hourDays of Work: This position works a 5 daywork week with one day off in a 3 week cycle.Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work weekAudience:Internal/ExternalApply By: May 20, 2021Job ID #: 304022We value diversity of expertise, talent and opinion which creates an innovative and collaborative environment.We are committed to a respectful and inclusive workplace and welcome applications from all qualified individuals.Apply for Jobtest
