Job Description

Cucina Market & Bistro is looking for a server supervisor who can work full or part-time hours in the mornings and evenings from Monday to Friday. Cucina offers both an intimate bistro and a vibrant grab & go-market cafe. In the heart of Calgarys downtown shopping district, this 50-seat restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a lively, casual atmosphere. Our food is based on the philosophy of "less is more", allowing unique ingredients to shine through preparations rooted in elegance and simplicity. Dishes are designed to be shared and enjoyed in the same way we would on a Sunday at home.Joining our team at Cucina Market will have you working alongside industry leaders dedicated to service and quality within Teatro Group. Teatro Restaurant Group has strived to provide the highest level of distinctive and memorable dining experiences. Our family of restaurants all adhere to the same philosophy: we are meticulous in sourcing out the finest ingredients possible for our guests, delivering incredible food with service that is attentive, sincere and focused on details.The Server/Supervisor will be responsible for providing high levels of customer service to all restaurant patrons by providing prompt service, taking accurate orders, and maintaining a solid working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials. The server will perform customer service duties in a friendly and professional manner at all times and ensure that the customers have an enjoyable dining experience.What you will do as a Server/Supervisor

  • Take food and beverage orders from customers and ensure these are given to the appropriate person to execute (i.e. kitchen staff, bartender, etc.)
  • Maintain familiarity with the composition of all menu items
  • Serve food and beverages in accordance with company standards
  • Clean designated areas per company procedures, including opening and closing routines and following hygiene requirements.
  • Change table linen as required and ensure dirty or damaged linen is not being used.
  • Clean and refill condiment sets for each table.
  • Set tables to company policy, ensuring that all items used are clean, undamaged and in a good state of repair.
  • Clean tables and ensure they are cleaned as soon as it is apparent that customers have finished their food or drink with an acceptable balance between speed yet allowing customers to finish their meal without feeling rushed.
  • Ensure that customers are correctly charged, present the bill and take payment from the customer in accordance with the procedures of the establishment.
  • Refusing service, arranging a taxi or even calling the police if necessary.
  • Always be aware of and practice excellent customer service, assisting the guest in any way that does not adversely affect other customers.
  • Attend to customer complaints satisfactorily.
  • Take part in any fire or evacuation drills and ensure complete familiarization with all exits, including those generally used by customers and fire escapes.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanour, and attitude at all times
  • Perform both opening and closing duties
What you will bring to our team
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent preferred
  • A minimum of two years of direct customer service experience is required
  • A minimum of one year of supervising role with direct customer service experience is required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to make excellent sales to achieve performance in alignment with organizational goals and objectives
  • Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Motivated and creative team player
  • Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including mornings and evenings. Also, being able to work, especially at private functions over the weekend, is required.
  • This position will spend 100% of the time standing.
  • Must be able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion and up to 35 pounds regularly.
  • Exposure to extremely hot and extremely cold liquids, barware etc.
  • Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
  • Fast-paced environment.
