Job Description

RJames Western Star (a division of RJames Management Group Ltd.) offers sales, maintenance and repair of heavy trucks and semi-trucks. We are seeking a Service Advisor to join our team at our Calgary shop.Under the supervision of the Service Manager, a Service Advisor will welcome customers and gather information required to identify their vehicle repair and maintenance work they require. The Service Advisor sells maintenance services and organizes the work schedule, while maintaining exceptional customer service and rapport. The Service Advisor is the first point of contact for the majority of our customers and visitors. Building customer loyalty and trust in this dealership is essential.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Welcome customers and visitors in a timely, professional, and friendly manner both in person and on the phone and obtain as much information about the customer and vehicle data before their arrival
  • Accurately listen to and communicate with the customer regarding all problems and concerns with their vehicle and/or work in process
  • Explain the nature of the work to be performed and all estimated costs to the customer in as much detail as necessary prior to repairs
  • Inform the customer of all promotions and services provided by the dealership, including Parts and New Truck Sales
  • Obtain, verify and double check that you have the correct truck/vehicle serial/VIN number, mileage, company, contact names and phone numbers on all required documents
  • Inspect all vehicles when obtaining VIN; inform customer if work is needed (lights, blades, etc), and provide an estimate for additional repairs
  • Provide cost estimates
  • Notify and work with Service Manager or Senior Lead hand of incoming work.
  • Be an active participant in the quality control process to make returns to the shop unnecessary
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Experience in the industry is not necessary, however preference will be given to those with heavy duty truck or automotive experience
  • Basic understanding and ability to operate a computer including Microsoft Office programs and internal programs
  • Must be able to present yourself in a positive, professional manner to colleagues and customers
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, managers, customers and the general public
