Job Description

Total Horizontal Drilling is a utility construction company with several large contracts in Alberta and British Columbia. Total Horizontal is seeking Skilled Labourers experienced in FTTX construction.Skilled hands will have:

  • Experience installing & proofing telecom conduit
  • Experience installing hardware (flower pots, splice boxes, pedestals, etc.) for telecom builds
  • Experience working around Utility Construction Equipment
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License - No GDLs
  • Smart Phone and data for HSE & QA Systems
  • Ground Disturbance Level 2
  • Confined Space
  • WHMIS 2015
Responsibilities
  • Dress for all types of weather
  • Digging shallow trenches to install conduit or expose utilities
  • Install boxes / vaults / pedestals without supervision
  • Collect and transmit QA requirements of tasks
  • Connecting & Proofing Conduits
  • Backfill and remediation
  • Driving trucks and trailers
  • Operating concrete saws, core drills, jumping jacks, trenchers
  • Spotting equipment
  • Working with drill crews to prep work
  • Working with front end crews
  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs
  • Read / write / speak English fluently
  • Additional duties as job required
Many opportunities for advancement with on the job training in respect to operating Directional Drills & Locators, Skid Steers, Backhoes, HydrovacsOpen to Canadian Residents only.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $25.00-$27.00 per hourAdditional pay:
  • Overtime pay
Schedule:
  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
