Shipper/Receiver - Jobs in Calgary, AB

Perform all duties in accordance with standard operational procedures and to ensure service standards, safety, security and regulatory requirements are met.
Resolve work related problems and recommend solutions
Recommend operational improvements to warehouse management
Safe and effective use of warehouse facilities, equipment and supplies
Report to Warehouse Supervisor
Receive direction from Warehouse Supervisor
Develop rapport with other distribution staff and management

RECEIVING

STOCK MANAGEMENT

Knowledge and understanding of warehouse layout and storage constraints
Ensure safe and efficient storage of product maintaining appropriate location control
Isolate and report any damaged/suspect product
Assist with physical inventory/cycle counts
Advise Team Leader/Warehouse Supervisor of inventory discrepancies

SHIP ORDER PROCESSING

Select correct quantity of product from the specified storage location in accordance with pick ticket instructions
Ensure proper packaging and labeling of the product for shipment
Match product with appropriate packing list and carrier waybill or manifest
Load transport vehicle ensuring correct weight distribution, blocking and bracing and obtain driver signature for acceptance of freight
Advise Team Leader/Warehouse Supervisor of late/missed carrier pick ups

MATERIAL HANDLING EQUIPMENT

Demonstrate ability to safely and efficiently operate warehouse material handling equipment including hand trucks, pallet trucks and powered “walkies”
Certified to operate Reach Trucks, Electric Pallet Jack, Counter Balanced Trucks and “man up” Order Pickers as required

HOUSEKEEPING

Maintain warehouse work spaces in clean and tidy manner and ensure the neat and orderly storage of all stock
Ensure all waste is placed in proper receptacles and is disposed of, or recycled, in a timely manner
Ensure emergency exits, fire extinguishers and hoses are accessible at all times and warehouse aisles are kept free of clutter, pallets etc.
Ability to lift up to 70 LBS on a regular basis

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Awareness of basic health and safety regulations and procedures
Responsible for the use of appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) at all times
Successful completion of WHMIS
Responsible for reporting accidents and unsafe conditions to Warehouse Manager
Participation in Health and Safety committee as required
