Together with donors, government and other social agencies, WINS provides wrap-around support to women who are experiencing abuse, poverty, social isolation and/or homelessness.We also operate Calgary-area family thrift stores, the More Store and Twice New online shop where Calgarians shop and donate. A career at WINS lets you advance your skills while making a meaningful contribution to Calgary women and their families.The Role:Working as an integral member of the Dover Store team, the Shipper Receiver ensures the effective flow of donated goods to and from our Family Thrift Stores to the Donation Centre (DC). The Shipper Receiver must have a flexible schedule to work any shift assigned from Sunday to Saturday. This is a full-time position of 30+ hours per week based on seasonal volume of donations.Reporting to the Store Manager, the Shipper Receiver is a hands-on position which requires the flexibility to work in all areas of inventory management, including the receiving, sorting, distributing and recycling of donated goods.Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):

  • help load and unload trucks on a daily basis
  • receive incoming donations and transfer donated goods from our Family Thrift Stores to the Donation Centre
  • inspect incoming donations properly and efficiently, respectfully decline unsuitable goods for donation when appropriate
  • store recyclable items in a safe manner ready for disposal
  • maintain a safe and secure work area by ensuring the backroom, yard, loading dock are clear of debris and clutter
  • respect and comply with all WINS policies and procedures
  • working as a member of the team to develop and maintain good employee and volunteer relations
  • develop ongoing communication with store management on any issues concerning WINS policies regarding the operation of the receiving area of the Family Thrift Store
Job Skills and Requirements:
  • must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • must have a flexible schedule, available to work any shift from Sunday to Saturday
  • Grade 12 Diploma, or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • 1 - 2 years of previous shipping receiving experience is required
  • must be able to work in a position of responsibility as a Keyholder
  • working knowledge of MS Office, including excel, Word and Outlook
  • must be organized with a strong customer-service focus
  • must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deliverables
  • must be able to effectively communicate in English (written and verbal)
  • must be able to work outdoors and to stand for long periods of time (entire shift)
  • must be able to properly lift a minimum of 50 lbs individually or 100 lbs as a member of a team throughout each shift
  • must be able to work at any WINS location
  • valid Class 5 Driver’s license is an asset
  • previous supervisory/keyholder experience is an asset
  • must be work-ready with CSA approved steel-toed safety boots
