Job Description

Shane Multi-Family, a division of Shane Homes Group of Companies, is constructing premier Row Townhome Condominium Units in communities throughout Calgary and Airdrie. Shane Homes has an opportunity for a Site Superintendent to join the Multi-Family team.Who are we looking forThe ideal candidate has a deep passion for construction, is highly motivated, entrepreneurial and results driven. That means our team members have access to continuous training, education, and mentorship opportunities so they can grow and evolve in their roles and skillsets.Job Summary: You will be responsible for coordinating all onsite day-to-day multi-family construction activities and managing sub-contractors, trades, and suppliers, ensuring that construction, objectives and schedules are met within budgets.You will work closely with Architects, Engineers, Sub-contractors and in house designers ensuring that all projects meet Shane’s high-quality standards. Overseeing site construction through to final evaluation of project, including plans, specifications, schedules, quality, budget, and safety.Responsibilities:

  • Extensive review of Plans and Specifications to ensure compliance by sub-contractors
  • Plan, organize, lead and control daily site construction operations
  • Strategically plan and implement manpower levels and material quantities; ensures proper equipment and trades are available as required
  • Monitor and be responsible to meet construction project budget estimates
  • Forecast, plan and prepare construction schedules, milestones and monitor progress
  • Update plans and documents as construction progresses for final as-builts and turnover
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with Municipal & Governmental inspection agencies
  • Ensure 100% compliance of all Health & Safety requirements and site cleanliness
  • Follow Shane Multi Family Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines
  • Ability to work independently using initiative and good judgment to assess priorities
  • Motivate, manage and mentor sub-contractors and members of the team
  • Attend Multi-Family meetings as required
  • Continuously monitor all construction activities by active participation and constant presence within the construction activities
  • Create an enjoyable and dynamic work environment for yourself and the project team
  • Other related duties and responsibilities as required
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in multi-family construction
  • Multi-Family Experience in construction of Row Townhome Condominium wood frame multi-family construction including underground Services and Utilities
  • Experience with low rise wood frame and concrete underground parkades will be an asset
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of construction, processes, methods and techniques, drawings and specifications and building materials
  • Proven knowledge of governing authority and safety code requirements
  • Proven ability to guide safe work practices in a high-pressure environment while maintaining project quality, schedule, and budget
  • Strong budgetary skills & proven track record of managing budgets and timelines effectively
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, train and mentor team members
  • Commitment to working in a team environment, with established team building abilities
  • Possess the knowledge, experience, and confidence to engage professionally with Design Professionals, Consultants, Engineers, City of Calgary inspectors/ officials, OHS, co-workers and Management.
  • Ability to work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office
  • Must have and maintain a valid provincial driver’s license

Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per yearBenefits:
