We look for people who have a safety-first mindset, who are collaborative team players, who deliver on their commitments, who are innovators in search of a better way, and who believe in inclusion.Working at Nutrien will provide you an opportunity to help us Feed the Future, and grow your career.Location: Saskatoon, Calgary, or Canadian Disctibution Terminal location (Bloom, MB, Clavet, SK, Watson, SK, Granum, AB, Standard, AB)Reports to the Director, Terminals.What you will do:Oversee Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) programs for multiple Nutrien Distribution facilities and provide expertise to ensure personnel safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance at those facilitiesWork directly with terminal management and operations personnel to ensure programs and procedures are developed and adequate to provide framework and expectations for working safely at all Distribution Network TerminalsDirect communication, planning, and development with Director - Terminals, Senior Manager - Terminals West, and Senior Manager - Terminals East.Travel (50%) to terminal locations to provide safety support, site safety assessments, safety standard implementation support, and project supportDevelopment, implementation, and management of Nutrien’s Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Standards program with particular focus on terminal-specific SHE processes and proceduresWork directly with terminal management and operations personnel to ensure programs and procedures are developed and adequate to provide framework and expectations for working safely at all Distribution Network TerminalsDevelop and provide required training for all Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) related standards to terminal employeesParticipate in Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) compliance audits and assessments including overseeing the development of post-audit corrective/preventive actions and tracking to completionTrack site Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive continual improvement of safety mitigation. Continually monitor the status of SHE program elements to ensure improvement, including identifying areas where additional support and/or training is needed.Provide statistical data to the terminals and identify trends to assist in development of action plansPrepare required regulatory reportingKey contact for the Terminal group for all other support groups including other business unit Safety, Health, and Environmental groupsProvide input on daily safety items, capital projects, standards, and process improvements, as requiredComplete special projects as needed and any other tasks assigned to support personnel safety, process safety, and business continuity and growthWhat you will bring:Minimum of 8 years’ experience, preferably within a manufacturing and/or terminal plant environment, related to environmental, health and safety compliance programsA degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or other related educational background or equivalent experiencePreferred environmental and / or safety certification(s) including but not limited to: CHMM, REM, CSP, CRSP, CSMAbility to plan, organize, implement, and control a standard set of goals, plans and procedures.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to lead from the front and motivate others to learn and participate fullyKnowledge of Canadian and US Safety, Health, and Environmental regulationsKnowledge and experience in Safety, Health, and Environmental investigation, inspections, and auditing methodsInterpersonal communication, planning, problem solving, and organizational skillsAbility to mentor, teach, coach and counsel constructively to assist others to understand and accept change and the importance of a safe workplace environmentAs a team player you will be expected to work with senior management, your peers and staff, as well as contractors, visitors and customersValid Driver’s License is requiredJob will require average 50% travel (US and Canadian Distribution Network Terminals)Are you a good match Apply today!Nutrien is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to creating an inclusive workplace.
