For more on our purpose, culture, and strategy, visit cpr.ca/en/about-cp.PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:As a Specialist T&E Regulatory you will manage daily allocation and management of regulatory rest for T& E employees. The successful candidate will also work closely with Operations Centre leadership in identifying operational impacts, as well as monitor and communicate with stakeholders how decisions affect current and future crew availability.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Ensure best usage of crew time off to meet Transport Canada regulatory changes.
  • Assess current terminal manpower to identify opportunities to comply with regulatory rest requirements.
  • Consider options and best timing to apply regulatory resets with little or no impact to operations.
  • Manage current crew cycles outside of mandatory rest at home and AFHT locations.
  • Identify if applying additional rest to achieve regulatory rest compliance makes operational sense.
  • Analyze long term and short-term crew cycle impacts on terminal manpower.
  • Maintain even flow resets over a 7-day period.
  • Frequently review cycle updates for all Canadian terminals.
  • Communicate with all Field/OC leaders when it becomes necessary for employees to be mandated the necessary time off.
  • Compile, revise, and issue manpower status reports for affected terminals.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • University Degree or Post-secondary Diploma recommend or equivalent industry knowledge.
  • Experience with CPR along with geographic/operating systems/commercial knowledge would be an asset.
  • Crew Management and CMA knowledge would be an asset.
  • Prior transportation experience with supply chain and logistics would be an asset.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills – ability to function as part of a team.
  • Strong computing skills with the ability to learn new systems and adapt.
  • Able to deal with emergent situations on a continuous basis.
  • Ability to provide weekend coverage.
