Your Opportunity:The Strategic Development Capital Planner position is instrumental in initiating the planning and implementation of Capital Management’s goal “to provide Albertans with safe, well-designed, efficient, sustainable and well-maintained health facilities which support the delivery of high quality, client focused health services”.Description:Reporting to a Zone specific Director, Strategic Capital Planning, the position will be responsible for investigations and planning of the initial stages of a potential Capital Project up to and including project funding approval. Specific activities/deliverables include ; strategic facility plans, site master plans, strategic options analysis, needs assessments, business cases, site selection/assessments, community or zone facility utilization and optimization, site specific utilization and optimization, project specific expansion or redevelopment options and opportunities. All of the aforementioned activities are focused on identifying the most appropriate, efficient, effective, accountable and sustainable solution for complex and challenging space and clinical service challenges. The Strategic Development Capital Planner will work collaboratively with a broad spectrum of AHS staff, including Senior Leaders to analyze and make recommendations regarding utilization of existing facilities and future facility needs. This position will provide expert advice regarding facility planning and development solutions, up to and including project management of strategic initiatives to ensure client needs are met and future needs anticipated. Oversight of consultants conducting planning work for Alberta Health Services may be required on an occasional basis. The ability to pursue goals while building strong partnerships within AHS and with government, as well as recognizing and supporting the contributions of all members of the project team, are critical factors for success.
