Together we deliver exceptional experiences to our over 2 million daily customers.As part of the Internship, you will be required to prepare monthly reports and a final report, signed off by the Manager of Design and Construction. To satisfy the student’s course requirements this internship will be for a minimum of 15 weeks or 600 hours. The Manager of Design and Construction will provide required Progress Evaluations based on the objectives outlined for the internship (see attached Course Description).During this internship you will be involved in project communication/documentation, tenant coordination, drawing approval, start up requirements, financial tracking, progress reporting, close out documentation and administration of tenant/landlord design and construction functions.You will be a key member of an engaged, high-reaching team—part of a world-class, winning culture that prioritizes people development and focuses on long-term growth. We go above and beyond to protect and grow relationships by anticipating needs, being honest and considerate, and valuing customers as genuine partners.As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:Project Coordination

  • Review Landlord obligations/lease agreement and/or capital project objectives
  • Preparation of project budgets as reviewed with Construction Manager
  • Source/hire consultants applicable for project and communicate requirements i.e. existing site reviews/specifics, outline scope of work, budget and timeline
  • Review of drawings and specifications with Construction Manager, amend/advise as required
  • Produce tender packages/review/award
  • Coordinate permit activity as required
  • Update project cost sheets to initiate release of funds, track /review progress draws
  • Contractor orientation of Building Rules & Regulations, H&S Policy
  • Attend constructions site meetings as may be required
  • Coordinate final project inspections, track deficiencies report and ensure completion
  • Project close-out
  • Ensure Building Rules and Regulations, H&S Policy
  • Communicate progress to Property/Ops Managers/City Officials/Tenants
  • Keep open communication with Consultants and Tenant to ensure project completion/schedule
  • Attend Final Inspections with Consultants as required
Administration
  • Attend general office meetings
  • Drawing reproduction and filing
  • ACM tracking and updates on construction projects
  • Assist in CEAR approval process
  • Preparation of Criteria Manuals/Rules and Regs/H&S Policy
  • Track Lease documentation/LL obligations
  • LEED documentation tracking
  • Maintain/update Tenant Design and Construction Manual
  • Maintain/update project files hard copy and electronic

  • Are fully proficient in Word, Excel, Adobe, etc.
