The Students will have the opportunity to grow their professional network, give back to the community, and gain real world skills that will enhance their knowledge applicable to their studies.SummaryWere hiring! The Coprorate Finance team is looking to add a Finance Summer Student to the team. The Summer Student role will support a broad suite of functions within the Finance group, including Corporate Planning, Corporate Development, Treasury and Investor Relations as part of a cross-functional Analyst Pool.What Youll Be Doing
  • Assist with Developing, maintaining and improveing the financial models and databases required to support various finance initiatives.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of the monthly scorecard and forecasting process as well as in the development of materials for the company’s strategy, planning and budgeting cycles.
  • Assit in prepareing materials as part of the quarterly reporting cycle including various board materials, planning and forecasting updates, and development of investor relations materials.
  • Provide other analysis and support, as required.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
What Youll Bring
  • 3rd or 4th year student pursing a Bachelors Degree majoring in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Exceptional level of motivation and ability to work hard, with a focus on quality of work and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively within a team as well as autonomously on projects and initiatives.
  • Prior student experience or in financial analysis, corporate finance, planning or other Finance/Accounting roles is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience in a role with regular internal/external communication is viewed as an asset.
Working Conditions
  • The majority of the work is performed in an office environment
  • Gibson has a hybrid work environment for Calgary-based employees (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday we work from the Calgary Head Office). On Monday and Friday, work can be done remotely.
