Job Description

Reporting to the Dispatcher, the Field Supervisor will be primarily responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities associated with service delivery to meet customer requirements. The Field Supervisor will assist the Dispatcher in planning and directing daily and weekly operations to ensure services scheduled for completion are executed in a timely manner and meet all quality and safety standards. The Field Supervisor is a key point of contact with Customers and is responsible for ensuring they fulfill the Company’s customer value commitment to “Be the Best” by working safe, conveying professionalism, and providing high quality workmanship.Responsibilities

    • Oversees the Field Technicians as they perform general landscaping, grounds maintenance, and snow clearing duties throughout the year, servicing a variety of residential and commercial properties.
    • Sets the example for team members on expectations, accountability and attitude.
    • Balances workload and supports the Dispatcher in assigning work to team members on a day-to-day basis to support Company service delivery requirements and customer satisfaction objectives.
    • Supports Dispatcher with organizing, prioritizing, and monitoring day-to-day tasks to ensure all required daily work is completed on time.
    • Schedules and executes on-the-job training for Field Technicians to maintain and upgrade team member versatility.
    • Leads and participates in service delivery improvement initiatives as required for the work team.
    • Monitors work activities to ensure quality standards are maintained and safety practices, policies and procedures are followed.
    • Works closely with team members to resolve service delivery issues in a timely manner.
    • Supports the Dispatcher with providing performance feedback so that Field Technicians can be properly performance managed when required.
    • Develop and deliver effective communications with direct reports, teams, other functions, and other internal and external contacts, as required.
    • Provide day to day coaching and performance management to Field Technicians to maximize productivity, engagement, and overall contributions of the team.
    • Will ensure that service delivery jobs are properly documented for customer service and invoicing purposes. Will confirm the start and end times for each job and timesheets for each individual Field Technician. The Field Supervisor will be required to download and utilize the Pro Property Services App for executing this responsibility.
    • Will support Field Technicians by stepping in to cover for vacation, illness, and other absences from time to time as required.

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Field Technician role, servicing both residential and commercial properties, specifically with snow clearing.
    • Previous experience leading a small team is preferred.
    • Experience working with a variety of landscaping, lawn maintenance, and snow clearing equipment.
    • Completion of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
    • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel). As well, competent with utilizing mobile apps that will be used for documenting service delivery.
    • Valid Class 5 Drivers License is required with a clean Drivers Abstract.
    • Minimum of 1 year experience driving with a trailer.
Other Requirements
  • Willing to work flexible schedule. Majority of shift will be working remotely at customer sites.
  • Must be able to work on short notice as snow events occur.
  • Must attend employer-delivered and employer-sponsored training as required.
  • This position is expected to travel frequently (90% in the Calgary metro area).
Working Conditions
  • Majority of shift will be working outside.
  • Must wear applicable personnel protective equipment at all times (i.e., steel toed boots) when required.
  • Safety sensitive position in a continuously changing outdoors environment.
Physical Requirements
  • The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • The ability to exert maximum force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
  • The ability to exert force repeatedly or continuously over time. This involves muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue.
  • The ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without fatiguing.
  • Maintaining body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching.
  • Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner.
  • Standing, walking, and speaking for long periods of time.
  • Typing, punching or applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm.
  • Perceiving size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with the fingertips.
