Come join our team for a thriving future!Job Title: Surface Landman - RQ 22-30Location: Calgary, ABTAQA North is currently searching for a Surface Landman. Reporting to the Manager, Surface Land & Indigenous Relations, the Surface Landman will support the Surface Land Department overall and coordinate the timely and accurate negotiation, acquisition, and maintenance of surface rights for well sites, pipelines, and facilities for TAQA. The Surface Landman represents the company and interacts extensively with internal operational and technical teams as well as public, regulatory and First Nation stakeholders. The successful candidate will foster and maintain relationships with all stakeholders in an assigned area and ensure surface acquisition and consultation compliance in accordance with the Alberta Surface Rights Act, the LPRT (formerly Surface Rights Board) and AER Regulations and Directives. As part of this challenging role, you will specifically be responsible to:

• Coordinate/manage surface rights acquisitions and maintenance on both Freehold and Crown lands within Alberta
• Respond in a timely and accurate fashion to surface rights requests/concerns from internal and external stakeholders
• Engage in effective and accurate communication with internal stakeholders (i.e.: Development and Operations Teams) via project acquisition updates
• Interact with Land Administration and Accounting to ensure data quality
• Stay apprised of changes to Alberta regulatory framework insofar as it pertains to surface rights acquisitions and maintenance and the timely dissemination of the implications of these potential changes to TAQA North’s business
• Manage Asset Integrity work when required, engaging with Landowners for dig sites and damages
• Manage surface rights maintenance on Freehold lands, if applicable

The Successful Candidate will possess:

• Olds College Land Agent Diploma or equivalent education and experience
• Minimum 8 to10 years’ experience. Experience with a Producer is beneficial
• Working knowledge of Pandell Projects (formerly iLand)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to self-start, manage and prioritize workloads while effectively working as a team member and communicating appropriately
• Comprehensive and broad knowledge of regulations, documentation, and negotiations within Alberta
• Working knowledge of computers and various programs, including GIS programs

• Possess a permanent Land Agent license
• Possess a valid vehicle operating license
