Talent Manager(Interpreter & Translator Development)General DescriptionLiM is looking for a new outstanding team member to join our growing company. We have a commitment to connect our clients with the best interpreters and translators in the industry. This position will be dedicated to finding those people and onboarding them with LiM, providing them with ongoing training and support as well as connecting them with resources to help them grow as professionals. We are seeking someone who understands the certification process for translators and interpreters and who has a passion for training and connecting with new people every day.Term and DatesProjected start date is May 23, 2022Length: Part-time PermanentDetailed Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for full life cycle recruiting for interpreter and translator candidates. The Talent Manager works with candidates who speak a variety of languages in order to expand Languages in Motion’s capacity for requests of our clients. During the recruiting process, this person will conduct a series of interviews, resume verification, and additional activities to assess a candidate’s language abilities. The Talent Manager is responsible for onboarding translators and interpreters in accordance with LiM’s language requirements. General work guidance is provided by senior team members or directly by one or more Project Managers. Once the candidate is approved, the Talent Manager will provide ongoing training and ensure the candidate’s success with Languages in Motion.Responsibilities

  • Find Professional Translators and Interpreters based in Canada and USA
  • Interact with potential candidates on social media and professional networks (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Indeed)
  • May source potential candidates through internet searches and referrals
  • Create targeted marketing campaigns that are innovative and effective in attracting the talent pool needed to fill our Interpreter and Translator positions
  • Communicate with past candidates regarding new job opportunities
  • Develop talent pipelines for future hiring needs
  • Post ads in job boards, news outlets and other internet venues
  • Interview Translators and Interpreters to verify fit within the organization
  • Negotiate rates for services
  • Onboard and acquire contracts with Translators and Interpreters
  • Train new interpreters/translators on how to work with LiM in-person, phone, and via web-conference
  • Serve as the primary contact for all interpreter candidates during the recruiting process, from initial contact through to support
  • Ensure the highest level of candidate quality by diligently following the established recruiting process within the area(s) of responsibility
  • Routinely make the final decision to hire or not to hire a candidate for an interpreter position; Seek guidance about hiring decisions when in doubt
  • Provide candidates with information regarding compensation, policies and procedures, etc.
  • Maintain accuracy of candidate status in the applicant tracking database throughout the entire recruiting process
  • Provide support via phone and video conference to assist interpreters and translators with access and understanding of LiM’s interpreter and translator management platforms
  • Onboard new interpreters and keep detailed profiles
  • Update/Organize Translators and Interpreters in database
  • Ensure swift resolution of translator/interpreter questions and issues
  • Will be accountable for key metrics such as positions filled per month, time to fill positions, number of interviews conducted, number of offers extended, number of candidates contacted among others
Mandatory Prerequisites
  • Experience in the translation & interpreting industry (3 years minimum)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite:
    • PowerPoint (Advanced)
    • Word (Advanced)
    • Excel (Intermediate)
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills in English
  • Ease of learning new platforms and applications
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, preferred
  • Background in translation or interpreting field
  • Experience with Interpreting Management Platforms
  • Experience with Translation Memory Software, Vendor Management Software, CRMs
  • Understanding of the Certification process for translators/interpreters in Canada and US
  • Possess a solid understanding of employment policies and procedures.
  • Be self-motivated, self-directed and be able to act independently while also being able to collaborate within a team environment.
