Job Description

SummaryThe Team Lead, IT Unified Communications should be a highly motivated, energetic, and a passionate individual to lead the Unified Communications Team. The Team Lead advises on planning, design, implementation, and controls the installation, maintenance and administration of network infrastructure ensuring that the capacity, reliability, and availability of IT network services meet the requirements of the organization.The position requires a broad technical background along with strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities as it includes a wide range of challenges in assisting with day-to-day people, technical issues, and project related tasks.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Monitor and manage the following technologies to ensure the availability, reliability and responsiveness of systems and services:All LAN/WAN/MAN/WLAN voice and data network topologiesNetwork security infrastructure including firewalls, http filters, IDS/IPS, Cloud Services3rd party telecom services including MPLS, VSAT, VPN, Internet, PSTNVoice services including VoIP, Cellular, MSAT, IP TelephonyVideo ConferencingStrong hands-on knowledge of at least 3 of the following Cisco networking solutions including LAN, WAN, switching (L2 & L3), routing (BGP, OSPF, RIP,PVST, EIGRP, etc), data center, wireless, firewalling, VPN, QoS, & MPLS.Proficient in IOS, IOS-XE and NX-OS.Expert knowledge of management and configuration of Palo Alto Networks PAN line of firewalls and Panorama Management systemsKnowledge of configuration and management of Fortinet Firewalls, with FortiAnalyzer and FortiManager.Azure cloud services ( IOT, ExpressRoute ) are an asset.OT Experience or exposure is an asset.Strong knowledge of Cisco’s product line, including routers, Catalyst/Nexus switches, wireless solutions, WAAS, and Cisco video conferencing platformsKnowledge of Cisco Unified Wireless networking.Knowledge of Dark Trace security appliances, configuration, and monitoring.Familiar with IBM QRadar SIEM cloud monitoring services, configuring new policies, generating security reports. Experience in creating and defining new network architectures and explaining complex issues/situations.Ability to explore new ideas and make innovative contributions to existing network processes or solutions.Knowledge of enterprise telephone systems, PBX and video conferencing solutions.Practical experience in information security, including vulnerability testing and security assessments.Develop a common understanding of service level expectations with the business areas and regularly review the business areas’ measures and impressions of service level delivery; work collaboratively to develop solutions to bridge the gapsDevelop effective business relationships between business staff and self/team members that are cordial, professional and productiveEnsure appropriate resources are in place to meet delivery expectations. Ensure appropriate training, knowledge-transfer takes place to meet these expectationsOversee and collaborate with vendors to ensure systems and services supplied meet Precision Drilling’s business needsCollaborate and work effectively with other IT teams/resources in delivering required solutionsEnsure frequent, concise communication with the Manager, Infrastructure Services regarding relevant issues related to the team, infrastructure technologies, risks, or other information as requiredEnsure team adherence to standard IT practices/policiesRotational On-Call requiredKnowledge & SkillsAttention to detail in all areas of workSuperior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervisionStrong organizational, analytical, and project-management skillsExceptional knowledge of service and application deliveryDemonstrated leadership and personnel skillsStrong communication skills both written and verbalStrong desire to learn, improve and to assist othersAbility to work with many different personalitiesDocumenting technical procedures, standards, and policiesEducationPost-secondary education (degree or diploma) in the field of computersCertification in CCNA, CCNP, CCIE an assetPalo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) an assetExperienceAt least 10 years equivalent work experience, including a minimum 3 years in a leadership roleAzure / Microsoft Express Route experienceSolid understanding of Networking Concepts Competent with protocols of all core technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, OSPF, IMAP, LDAP, SMB, SSH, VPN, NAT, IPSec, VoIP, etc.)Extensive hands-on network management expertise, including setup, troubleshooting and network securityExpert knowledge of networking layers 2 and 3Network security infrastructure including firewalls, http filters, IDS/IPS, Cloud ServicesHardware upgrades, maintenance and troubleshooting skillsExperience with Windows servers, AD, VMWare/vSphere, Cloud and LinuxDarktrace Security monitoring, administration, and configuration.IBM QRadar SIEM monitoring, administration, and configuration.Nice to Have:Citrix Net ScalarTandberg Video ConferenceServiceNow IT Service ManagementFortinet firewall, switching and wireless appliances
