CL Technical Services Representative (TSR)Viking is seeking an experienced Customer Service professional to join the Customer Service and Product Support (CSPS) division in Calgary as a CL Technical Services Representative (TSR) for the Canadair fleet.Viking Air Limited (a subsidiary of Longview Aviation Capital) is the global leader in utility aircraft services and manufacturer of Series 400 and Guardian 400 Twin Otter Aircraft. In 2020, Viking celebrated their 50th anniversary. Viking is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Type Certificate holder for all out-of-production De Havilland Canada aircraft and the Canadair Amphibious Aerial Firefighting aircraft fleet.Longview Aviation Capital, through its subsidiaries, holds the Type Certificates for the entire original product line of the De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Company. Together these companies continue to make strides in manufacturing and modernizing versatile, fuel efficient and environmentally responsible turboprop aircraft for use around the world.Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, this role is eligible for a Temporary Remote Work Agreement under Vikings Remote Work Policy.SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:This full-time position will act as the primary point of contact in providing comprehensive and in-depth technical support to customers, operators, maintainers, and Viking staff. The TSR draws on general and type-specific aircraft knowledge and in the support of maintenance and operation of these aircraft. The TSR supports requests for maintenance, repair, parts provision, and configuration deviations supporting safe operation of the fleet.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Technical Support:Act as the primary point of contact in promptly processing and fulfilling, on a priority basis, customer's, operator's, maintainer's and Viking staff's requests for technical support.Provision of world class support for Viking-affiliated aircraft including warranty services, application of Service Bulletins, Technical Bulletins, and in implementation of the Viking-prescribed maintenance programs.Assist Customer Service Representatives in quotations and order management of support matters.Initial Provisioning & Training:Provide input for continuous improvement of IP spares and training packages as part of the new aircraft sales process.Ensure delivery of training services in line with customer expectations as set by Viking.Engineering, QC, and CAW Support:Recording, vetting and communicating changes for technical publications to Engineering.Provide support to the repair design process in the processing and fulfilling repair design services.Supporting requests from CAW, Quality, and Engineering to provide support in matters related to products or documents concerning in-service aircraft including participation in Airworthiness Control Systems Board Technical Teams as required.Submit Transport Canada Service Difficulty Reports as required by CAW.Record keeping:Document, using Viking processes, all relevant information concerning in-service operational and maintenance issues and troubleshooting results, and issue reports to Viking.Field Support:Where required, and based on individual capabilities and the specific situation, serve in a Field Support Representative capacity providing support for aircraft damage and repair assessment, incident/accident scene assistance, customer facility support visits, etc.International on-site support whereby 20-25% travel time is required.Obsolescence:In collaboration with the Customer Support Manager, identify current or pending obsolete part issues, and contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to mitigate.R2E / Continual Improvement:Actively participate in Viking's R2E program.Assist in the development of standard work for all Technical Support activities.Understand metrics that measure key performance parameters.Strive to achieve world class levels of customer service in every interaction our clients have with Viking.EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSMinimum - post secondary education in a relevant technical field (e.g.: Aircraft Maintenance)Minimum 10 years of civil aircraft line maintenance experienceDetailed knowledge and hands-on experience on Canadair AircraftAME license. AME "M" license is an asset. Broad technical experience is an asset, including structures, powerplants, avionics and systems.Excellent communication skills both written and oralAbility to research technical subjects, including but not limited to research of engineering drawings, manuals, specifications, vendor communications, etc.Ability to create documents and files using Microsoft Office tools (e.g.: Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Experience with engineering, supply chain, customer service, and aircraft manufacturing processes and methodsExperience dealing with a variety of aircraft maintenance and operating organizations.Experience with customer support and customer interactionsInstructional experience is an asset.International travel requiring a valid Canadian passport.We thank all candidates for applying, however; only selected applicants will be contacted.
