Job Description

Duties include creating general arrangement drawings and fabrication drawings for medium to large scale projects across North America. In addition to modeling structural steel components and other building systems and components, candidates must be knowledgeable with building construction, VDC workflows, and be capable of interpreting architectural and structural drawings. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work in an exciting team atmosphere. This is an excellent opportunity for talented individuals interesting in advancing emerging BIM technologies in construction applications.Requirements:

  • Prepares Tekla Models following the Structural and Architectural drawings and specifications, in compliance with applicable standards and building codes.
  • Prepares steel connections according to connection design requirements to meet industry and company standards.
  • Create and incorporate all RFI’s promptly when discrepancies are found, or additional information is required to complete the process, and follow up as required.
  • Create and modifies drawings for Approval, Assembly, As-builts and Erection Drawings.
  • Issue and track drawing approvals, and production as required.
  • Prepare Fabrication Packages and issue to Production Control as per scheduled delivery dates.
  • Incorporate site verified dimensions and conditions into model and drawings.
WHAT YOU NEED:
  • Experience in Structural and Miscellaneous steel construction methods and materials.
  • Self motivated, detail-oriented team player.
  • Degree/diploma from a recognized institution
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience with Tekla StructuresKnowledge of steel fabrication and building construction
  • Experience reading architectural and structural drawings
  • Ability to multitask with minimal guidance to meet scheduled delivery dates.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient organizational and time management skills.

  • $25-$30 per hour
