Job Description

OVERVIEW:The Alberta Employment First Network (AEFN), works collaboratively to improve employment outcomes for / with people with disabilities, build member capacity, engage employers across Alberta and support policymakers in informed decision-making regarding employment inclusion.This position’s function is coordinating the delivery of the activities outlined in the Alberta Workforce Inclusion Network (A-WIN) Agreement with CSS. Responsibilities include liaising with the business and service provider communities and coordinating training/ capacity-building events.Responsible for collaborative development and implementation of the project’s Communications Strategy, including project promotion and website and social media platform oversight. Maintenance of a service provider directory and scheduling and promoting workshops/events.Connecting employers and service providers (and the job seekers they represent) is a significant, ongoing element of this position.This position is available for candidates in Calgary or Edmonton and their greater surrounding areas (e.g. Sherwood Park, Airdrie, St. Albert, Okotoks, etc.).Description:

  • Coordinate project activities and training events in alignment with A-WIN /AEFN
  • Engage disability employment service providers / increase AEFN membership
  • Develop promotions and ensure publicity of AEFN and project activities
  • Related administrative tasks: file keeping, information distribution, team meetings, etc.
  • Help Coordinate/Promote Disability Employment Awareness Month (July-Oct)
Direct Duties: Employer Engagement
  • Promote the AEFN membership and the business case for workplace EDI – Disability is Diversity
  • Promote ‘Workplace Inclusion Partnerships’ (employers / service providers)
  • Coordinate ‘Disability is Diversity’ presentations for business networks (min 6 / year)
Direct Duties: Service Provider Engagement
  • Develop AEFN membership and maintain service provider directory
  • Coordinate service provider capacity-building learning sessions (min 6/year)
  • Connect service providers to job-seeker workshops (digital literacy / employability skills)
  • Respond to / direct inquiries and information requests

  • Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $66,000.00 Annually
  • Benefits – 50/50 Employee/Employer Paid Premiums
  • 12 vacation days, 7 Personal days, 12 paid holidays and a flexible, family-friendly schedule
  • Work conditions include: occasional travel within Alberta (for meetings or community-based events), and collaborative/independent work
  • Hybrid work – Can work from home, office space in Calgary and Edmonton available for use, or in the community.
