Your Opportunity:An exciting opportunity exists in AHS, Calgary Zone, South Health Campus (SHC). The Cardiac Inpatient (ACU 66), working collaboratively with all the clinical teams spread across the South Health Campus, is in the process of hiring a casual Unit Clerk. Our unit offers a unique opportunity to work with acute General Internal Medicine and Cardiology patients in a modern environment. The Unit Clerk, under minimal supervision, is essential to the smooth and efficient operation of the nursing unit. As the initial contact person, the Unit Clerk is instrumental in facilitating communication between patients and families, other clinical departments and the staff on the Unit. The incumbent is also responsible for organizing SCM order summaries for nursing staff and recognizes and prioritizes any STAT Sunrise Clinical Manager orders and then communicates these orders to the appropriate staff member. During downtime procedures the Unit Clerk is responsible for printing relevant clinical data.Description:As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.
