Weve grown to over 150 team members in two years, serving hundreds of patients each month, and are continuing to grow rapidly.Our first brand, Freddie, is focused on improving sexual health through education, prevention and treatment with a focus on the LGBTQ2S+ community—were now the largest HIV prevention service in Canada! Our second brand, Frida, is focused on improving mental health and happiness through education, diagnosis and treatment. Best of all—we have fun doing it.Who we hope to find:PurposeMed is looking for a VP, Product to take the PurposeMed platform into its next phase of growth, unifying all the apps for our expanding verticals through a patient-centric strategy, while being a strong people leader for the Product Management and Design teams. Reporting into the COO, this role will work directly with our founders and leaders from all functions across the business to ensure were building solutions that solve our patients complex healthcare needs in a scalable way.Successful candidates will have a strong management background and are able to work with our head of Engineering to recruit, motivate and develop our growing team. You will set the vision for the direction that the product needs to go in to solve our users problems, while meeting PurposeMeds business objectives. You are a champion for the product experience of all our users, from our patients, to our providers, and you recognize the vital role that technology has to play in delivering non-judgmental and high-quality health care. Ideal candidates will have a keen interest in building a platform that can scale across adjacent use cases.Though we have an office based in Calgary, this is a remote position that is open to candidates across Canada.In this role, youll make an impact by:

  • Working closely with our founders and executives to translate the companys mission into a product vision, strategy, and roadmap
  • Being the product leader that drives conversations about how technology can be leveraged to support patients needs, bring new product verticals to market, and scale our internal operations
  • Identifying our most critical product metrics and enable the Product Managers to own their respective roadmaps to improve them
  • Leading recruiting efforts to find, interview, hire, onboard and grow our talent. Manage the Product Managers and Designers on the team through 1-on-1s, supporting their professional development and driving high-performance on the team.
  • Collaborating with the Head of Engineering to ensure that the broader technology team is structured to be aligned to the needs of the business
  • Developing and owning a product strategy that will lead to step functions in the growth of the product for the Freddie, Frida and future brands
  • Supporting the organizational development of a Growth Product function which is currently in its early stages and beginning to take shape
  • Championing the product experience of all our users, from our patients to our providers, and balance the quick wins with the structural leaps
We need someone who:
  • Loves thinking in systems, and is able to identify the opportunities that will lead to a step function in growth, even if that requires challenging the status quo and advocating for an overhaul
  • Can collaborate with a fast-moving team and is able to lead change management while fostering an inclusive culture
  • Has excellent judgment and can help others with making difficult trade-off decisions quickly and decisively
  • Leads with empathy but can hold others accountable while creating a safe environment that teams can thrive in
  • Has strong analytical skills to bring a data-driven approach to product management and design
  • Is not intimidated by building the plane while flying it: youre excited to help us iterate on our existing discovery and delivery processes
  • Gives their team clear goals and the autonomy to decide how they hit them, while using coaching and strategic direction to guide them
It would also be great if you:
  • Have 8+ years of relevant experience in consumer or B2B software, with 5+ years in leadership roles across product teams
  • Are passionate about hiring, coaching and managing high-performing teams in a rapidly growing company where you get to co-design the squad structures with your Engineering counterpart to drive outcomes
  • Possess excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Can translate complex customer problems into simple, user-friendly solutions
  • Are familiar with working in health tech or other early stage startups
