Job Description

Southampton Industrial is a manufacturer of custom HVAC and automation equipment with customers across the United States and Canada. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package and provides a positive and professional work environment.The Warehouse Manager holds an important role in the company by ensuring equipment is loaded safely onto trucks, and that all materials received are accurately tracked and stored. The current position also includes responsibilities as a Safety Coordinator which may or may not be included with the role depending on the skill set of the successful applicant.Responsibilities Some of the key responsibilities of the Warehouse Manager include but are not limited to:

  • Shipping
  • Make arrangements with carriers for international and domestic shipments
  • Ensure carriers are aware of oversized shipments and other specific requirements
  • Arrange for 3rd party cranes to load larger pieces of equipment as needed
  • Work with logistics companies as required
  • Establish safety perimeters and ensure all lifts are performed in a safe and well- planned manner
  • Obtain competitive quotes from carriers
  • Place manufactured equipment into temporary storage when needed
  • Communicate with Sales department to confirm shipping arrangements
  • Track shipments in ERP software
  • Perform Quality Assurance inspections in accordance with the company’s ISO
9001:2015 quality management system
  • Receiving
  • Receive parts of varying size and complexity using the company’s ERP software
  • Verify all parts received are in good condition and match purchase orders with suppliers
  • Organize and store components according to individual equipment orders
  • Arrange for inspections by the Engineering department when receiving manufactured subassemblies
  • Inventory Management
  • Issue inventoried components to manufacturing staff
  • Monitor inventoried parts and make adjustments in ERP software as parts are issued
  • Collect excess parts and adjust inventories after manufacturing of a product has been completed
  • Provide internal notifications when inventory levels are insufficient
  • Facilities and Equipment Management
  • Ensure correct operation of overhead cranes, overhead doors and other equipment
  • Manage contracts and service work for overhead cranes and fork lifts
  • Manage contracts for recycling and garbage bins
  • Manage facilities including landscaping and snow removal
  • Ensure receiving area is maintained in a clean and organized manner
  • Safety Related
  • Participate in the company’s safety programs and initiatives
  • Ensure employees who operate overhead cranes and fork lifts have the required training
  • Perform regular safety checks on overhead cranes and fork lifts
  • Identify unsafe work practices and intervene if necessary
  • Ensure MSDS documentation is up to date
  • Prequisites
  • Fork lift and Overhead Crane Operator certificates
  • 5 years in shipping/receiving (heavy equipment preferred)
Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $28.00-$31.00 per hourBenefits:
