Job Description

POSITION SUMMARYWildhorse is looking for experienced Security / Door person to fill out their team on a full-time seasonal contract. Join the Wildhorse team and put your outgoing personality and security skills to use in a fast-paced environment. As one of the first points of contact for guests, the security team is responsible for making all patrons feel welcome. During the evening security are responsible for ensuring patrons are safe while enjoying their time at Wildhorse.VENUE SUMMARYThe Wildhorse Saloon is your destination for the greatest Stampede Party in Calgary. Located in the heart of downtown, we’ve got daily concerts, western barbecue, Double Zero pizza, a non-stop dance floor, our own outdoor midway, and 20+ bars serving drinks that will knock your boots off!COMPENSATION

  • Hourly wage: Starting at $18.00+ an hour depending on experience

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Greet and assist all patrons treating them as welcome guests at Wildhorse.
  • Ensure that all patrons adhere to Wildhorse’s dress code.
  • Check for proper identification ensuring all patrons are of legal age and uphold Wildhorse’s age restriction policies.
  • Respectfully refuse admittance to underage and intoxicated clientele.
  • Control line ups and ensure a clear exit for departing guests.
  • Complete and maintain proper capacity counts as set forth by the AGLC, Calgary Fire Department and Calgary City Police; informing management of counts throughout evening.
  • Maintain entrance cleanliness, ensuring safe accessibility of the venue.
  • Assist fellow staff members when required with bussing, setting up the dance floor, etc..
  • Ensure your radio is active and you are wearing an earpiece at all times.
  • Monitor customers to ensure their safety and the safety of the Wildhorse staff and property.
  • Assist in closing procedures and informing patrons of last call, ensuring all guest have left the building.
  • Ensure that no customer leaves with Wildhorse property or beverages.
  • Extend a “Thank You” and assist departing guests with arranging for transportation or locating their friends and belongings as necessary.
  • Execute ad-hoc tasks are required.
. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Previous Door/ Security experience is considered an asset.
  • Personable and assertive individual interested in gaining hospitality experience.
  • Strong communication skills and out-going personality with ability to establish and develop relationships with both guests and employees.
  • Strong team player, punctual for shifts and reliable to execute work as assigned.
  • ProTect Security Certificate is required.
  • Ability to fluently communicate in both written and verbal English
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be over 18 and open scheduling availability is a requirement.
