Job Description

Partner Staffing is thequot;go to recruiter quot; for difficult, important, and time sensitive positions in Western Canada.We work with proactive clients who understand the importance of having exceptional staff.Partner Staffing on behalf of our Client, we are seeking a highly motivated Wildlife Biologist with 4 to 7 years of experience to join our Calgary-based environmental team. We are a large engineering firm with offices across Western Canada. The successful candidate will play a key role in wildlife assessment, regulatory permitting, and ecological monitoring for projects across Alberta and Western Canada. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about wildlife management, regulatory compliance, and applied ecology.RequirementsKey Responsibilities

  • Lead and support wildlife baseline assessments, field surveys, habitat evaluations, and environmental impact assessments (EIAs)
  • Prepare technical reports, mitigation plans, and regulatory applications (e.g., AEP, DFO, CWS)
  • Coordinate and conduct field programs, including migratory bird surveys, amphibian call surveys, and wildlife camera deployments
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on large-scale infrastructure, resource development, and land-use planning projects
  • Interpret and apply provincial and federal environmental legislation (e.g., Wildlife Act, Species at Risk Act, Migratory Birds Convention Act)
  • Liaise with clients, Indigenous communities, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders
  • Mentor junior staff and support project management tasks as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • 4–7 years of progressive wildlife biology or ecological consulting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Alberta wildlife species, habitats, and regulatory framework
  • Demonstrated experience conducting and leading wildlife surveys in field conditions
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and data interpretation skills
  • Proficiency with GIS, GPS, and data management tools is an asset
  • Eligible for, or already holding, a Professional Biologist (P.Biol.) designation in Alberta
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field sites as needed
