Within CDARI sits a number of support functions including Business Operations, Continuing Education, International, Corporate Training, Applied Research, and Business Intelligence.*The Opportunity*Our International Division at SAIT is launching a new and exciting collaboration with Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute. We are seeking a Writer/Editor to develop and produce high quality, detailed educational documents and curriculum materials for virtual learners in three subject areas: Pipeline Industry, Hydrocarbon Fluids and Inspection Techniques.Reporting to the Curriculum Development Specialist and the Project Manager within the Corporate Development, Applied Research and International (CDARI) department at SAIT, you will work with a Subject Matter Expert and an Instructional Designer on a 2-month term contract. This Writer/Editor opportunity will be on a part-time basis with involvement in meetings during regular business hours with stakeholders. The Project Manager is wanting to start the development right away (July 2021) with the work being completed by August 2021 in preparation for delivery in the Fall.The ideal candidates will be results-driven, detail-oriented, and learner-focused. You are a strong, collaborative, and creative team player who is able to effectively guide and lead others to meet desired goals and timelines.The Role

  • Write and edit a wide variety of curriculum material including manuals, course modules, PowerPoint presentations, assignments, assessments, video scripts and more.
  • Organize and edit materials in consultation with subject matter experts, instructional designers and project team members.
  • Ensure curriculum documents are clear, logical and suitable for students.
  • Ensure accuracy of content and alignment with learning outcomes and objectives.
  • Verify that all written materials comply with SAIT guidelines and best practices.
  • Assist with copyright and citation issues.
Qualifications
  • Minimum degree in English or Communications is required.
  • Minimum five years’ experience as a writer/editor is required.
  • Expert knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and the English language.
  • Knowledge of the general curriculum development process is preferred - curriculum writing in particular.
  • Audience and skilled at concisely presenting technical and educational content.
  • Proficient in the following Microsoft Office programs: Word (intermediate); PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook (basic).
  • Excellent research, prioritization, organizational and oral/written communication skills.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
