We offer a competitive salary and benefits, and support the growth and development of our staff.The Program – PassagesThe program is one of Enviros “Live in” programs serving five young people between the ages of 13 – 17 who are under the care of Children’s Services. Individuals residing in this program may have been affected by trauma, domestic abuse or family breakdown. Some may have cognitive delays or presenting behavioral concerns.The Position – Youth Support WorkerThe Youth Support Worker provides supervision and support to young people residing in the program and is a member of the team ensuring treatment plans are implemented. Candidates will be expected to assume key worker responsibilities and advocate for the youth. This position will involve working weekends, days or evening shifts and the ideal candidate will have interest in and training in recreation and outdoor recreation activities and a willingness to participate in recreation programs. All workers are expected to assist with daily household chores and routines and may be asked to take the lead in certain areas of responsibility. Youth Support Workers must have good working knowledge of computer programs and skilled with basic office applications.Qualifications/ExperiencePost-secondary education in the Human Services or related field1-2 years of child and youth care, social work or human services experience is considered an assetCPR and First Aid certificationKnowledge of Experiential learning, strength-based practice and trauma informed careValid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 5 GDL will not be accepted)A clean driver’s abstract containing not more than two (2) minor offences or one (1) major offencePolice Record Check with Vulnerable sector check (within six (6) months)Child Intervention Check (within one (1) year)Current Suicide Intervention (ASSIST) and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training would be an asset and must be completed within 6 months of employmentHow to ApplyPlease submit your cover letter and resume to careers@enviros.org: attention Kelsey Stroppel.
