Job Description

AGAT Laboratories is a full-service laboratory with locations across Canada. We are the most diversified laboratory in Canada. Our scientists are highly-skilled and specialized in the fields of biochemistry, chemistry, microbiology, geology, engineering and other specialty services. With a broad range of staff experience and state-of-the-art instrumentation, we provide cross-analytical solutions for the Environmental, Energy, Mining, Transportation, Industrial, Agri-food and Life Sciences sectors.Field Source Testing Technician (Stacks)The Field Source Testing Technician (Stacks) involves working with a team performing air emissions testing at various industrial facilities throughout Alberta, and neighboring Provinces. This role involves becoming proficient in the use of a variety of test equipment and methods used to measure the chemical and physical characteristics of source emissions to the atmosphere.The candidate will also become familiar with Alberta Stack Sampling Code (ASSC), the Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) Code, and their applications. Other duties will include equipment maintenance and repair, job preparation and ordering spare parts and materials. This role also provides an excellent introduction to the oil and gas industry in Alberta.Responsibilities:

  • Manage time based on daily schedule
  • Load and unload equipment
  • Professional attitude that is customer service driven
  • Maintain AGAT Vehicle
  • Maintain required Safety Tickets and Courses
  • Maintain personal paperwork
Qualifications:
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license with proof of a good driving history
  • Comfortable with traveling throughout Western Canada
  • Willing to work beyond 8 hours per day
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Solid physical fitness and some heavy lifting
  • Ability to climb and work at heights up to 150 feet
  • Some mechanical, electrical, and chemical aptitude
Work Environment: This position requires a person to stand, sit, and lift throughout the shift in a shop and field environment. This position may require consistent lifting of up to 50 lbs. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. Sitting for long period in a vehicle is required. Up to date field safety tickets are required for compliance.
