Please proceed using the link: https://app.traits.com/survey/a56e7669-2ba6-4573-83cd-800831da5362POSITION OVERVIEW:Startec Refrigeration Service is currently recruiting an Electrical Engineer to work at our Glenmore Office location (Suite 240, 4000 Glenmore Court SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 5R8).The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of engineering projects. Responsibilities include determining detailed engineering design criteria, maintaining design consistency across projects, and coordinating design criteria with other disciplines. Additionally, the candidate will oversee the development of specifications for electrical work, manage procurement processes, and forecast material costs. Participation in project review meetings and adherence to health, safety, and quality management policies are integral aspects of this role. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):ENGINEERING DESIGN (Weighting 40%)Design Coordination Top of Form

  • Determine the detailed engineering design criteria to be employed for the project in conjunction with the EIC team.
  • Ensure consistency and integrity of design throughout the project.
  • Coordinate design criteria with other disciplines.
  • Ensure flowsheets are consistent and up to date with major equipment design and selections.
Equipmentamp; Documentation
  • Prepare request for quotation (RFQ) packages of all major equipment assigned to electrical engineering.
  • Prepare an area classification drawing.
  • Prepare an electrical equipment list.
  • Prepare an electrical line list.
  • Ensure that all discipline deliverables are checked and verified.
ELECTRICAL WORK MANAGEMENT (Weighting 40%)Planningamp; Facilitation
  • Ensure the development of specifications for electrical work, if required.
  • Prepare the material take-offs.
  • Prepare the shutdown key with input from the Process Lead.
Cost Management
  • Ensure that all electrical work is identified, evaluated, and purchased.
  • Evaluate and forecast the material costs for all electrical work.

  • Attend and participate in project review meetings
  • Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to health and safety and quality management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience (5+ years) in electrical engineering, focusing on design and project management.
  • Solid understanding of electrical design principles, codes, and standards.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) license or equivalent certification preferred
