We provide land acquisition, geospatial mapping, data management, web-based GIS, community relations, land feasibility studies, and permitting services. Canacre’s clients include developers, large scale service providers, and government entities that are involved in the planning and development of energy projects, rights of way, resources, and infrastructure across Canada and the United States. Our vision is to foster an environment that promotes inspired and empowered team members who make an impact.The Jr. Estimator analyzes proposed scopes of work and schedules to estimate the final budget required to conduct proposed work. The Jr. Estimator will be responsible for estimating the cost of labour and expenditures for projects, auditing actual cost of labour and expenses for projects, and developing costing standards and procedures that can be applied to projects. The Jr. Estimator will also request input from key stakeholders and subject matter experts to adjust estimates and standards when required.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Determine the level of effort and hours required for Canacre projects.
• Prepare estimates for all stage gates of work outlined within a scope of work and schedule.
• Prepare proposal specifications and assumptions associated with level of effort.
• Collaborate cross-departmentally on project scope, schedule, and cost analysis.
• Analyze client designs, plans, specifications, milestones, and addendums in preparation of project budgets and schedules.
• Assist in preparing and distributing requests for information to Canacre personnel, clients and subcontractors as required.
• Prepare project workplans and schedules.
• Assist the Pursuits Team to create proposals based on proposed workplans.
• Provide input to project team regarding cost and expenditure statements and forecasts at regular intervals for the duration of a project.
• Provides guidance for invoicing rules in relation to scope of work upon project award.
• Provide input to project team to effectively manage risks that might impact scope, schedule, and cost estimates.
• Set-up audit frameworks for analysis of actuals to inform future work.
• Work with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
• Provide recommendation for cost control measures and improvements.

Perform other duties as required.QUALIFICATIONSEducation

• Post-Secondary degree in Business, Science, Engineering or related program.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years relevant professional experience.
• Experience in providing experience in estimations for large infrastructure projects considered an asset.
• Experience in consulting is considered an asset.
• Experience with MS Project is considered an asset.
• Experience with ArcGIS is considered an asset.
• Experience with Google Earth (KML/KMZ) is considered an asset.

Knowledge/Skills

• Solid understanding of estimation standards and procedures.
• Proven financial acumen with knowledge of job cost fundamentals and/or accounting.
• Excellent understanding of critical path items and project workflows.
• Proven analytical and planning skills to project outcomes.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to understand and communicate both technical and business requirements.
• Self-confidence to work across all levels of an organization to gather information and report results.
• Flexible and adaptable to pivoting directions quickly.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and a hands-on approach to being involved with the company.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite: Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.
• Proficient in CRM or ERP systems.

Licenses/Accreditations

• Project Management Institute (PMI) accreditations or equivalent are considered an asset.
• Valid Driver #39;s License, with ability to maintain insurability under the company #39;s insurance carrier
