If you are a 3rd of 4th year apprentice or Journeyman Machinist who likes to roll your sleeves up and contribute to a manufacturing office environment, please read on…Summary:The Machinist position at Rostel Industries reports to the Machine Shop Supervisor and is responsible for…Responsibilities:

  • Ensure cost-effective manufacture of components to the required standards and company objectives
  • The machining of components to specified drawings while maintaining quality and efficiency
  • May require overtime and shift work as decided by the department management
Knowledgeamp; Skills:
  • Must be willing to work in and participate in safety conscious environment
  • Must be motivated and have good communication skills
  • Candidate must have a positive attitude with the ability to work well with others and on their own
  • Produce quality products based on engineering drawings with minimal defects
  • G code and conversational programming
  • Familiarity with Mazatrol, Fanuc, Heidenhain and Fagor control is advantageous
  • API/Grant Prideco rotary shoulder connection experience is an asset
  • Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and asset
Education:
  • Must be registered in a post-secondary Machinist training program
  • Registered Journeyman Machinist is considered an asset
  • Equivalent recognized training
Experience:
  • CNC Lathe and/or Mill experience is required
  • Familiarity with Gibbs Cam software is a desirable asset
  • Experience with oilfield, automotive, or aviation manufacturing in a service/jobber shop environment is an asset
