Please proceed using the link: https://app.traits.com/survey/a56e7669-2ba6-4573-83cd-800831da5362POSITION OVERVIEW:Startec Compressionamp; Process is currently recruiting for a Project Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) - Package to work at our Shepard Office (9423 Shepard Rd SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 4R6).The Project Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T) – Package will be responsible for providing support in the design, development, and implementation of packaging solutions for products. Reporting to the Package Engineering Supervisor, the Project Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T) - Package will work closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to contribute to packaging projects. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovative design solutions, conducting thorough analyses to optimize package efficiency, and adhering to industry standards and regulatory guidelines. The Project Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T)– Package will manage and assist with all technical and manufacturing issues on multiple Projects, provide engineering support to the Service department during equipment commissioning and start-up, and contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives of the Engineering Department.KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):PACKAGE ENGINEERING SUPPORT (Weighting 50%)Technical Designamp; Analysis

• Assist in the review of the process simulation.
• Ensures the completion of any additional process design tasks, including simulation for pipe sizing and equipment blow-down rates.
• Assists in the preparation of 3D models, GA, structural drawings, and spool drawings according to customer specifications and in-house guidelines.
• Participates in-house 3D model review meetings with designers and manufacturing personnel, ensuring compliance with design review checklists. Proficient with NAVISWORK Freedom for 3D Model Review.

Package Designamp; Documentation

• Assists in marking up P amp;IDs or assigns the task to designers, arranges and chairs in-house P amp;ID review meetings, submits P amp;IDs to the customer, and coordinates revisions.
• Assists the Process Engineer #39;s work related to PSVs and control valves, among others.
• Assist the third-party Structural Engineer #39;s work involving weight estimates, preliminary structural beam size selection, and communication for final approval.
• Assists the Mechanical Engineer #39;s work involving pressure vessel and heat exchanger design for final approval.
• Help find the information required for the third-party Pipe Stress Engineer to perform the Pipe Stress Analysis and review different recommendations and insure they get incorporated into the piping model during model reviews.
• Get familiarity with process simulation software to model and analyze different scenarios for optimal process design.
• Help assigns tasks or collaborates with the Process Engineer to establish the Control philosophy and Shutdown key

Equipmentamp; Materials Management Support

• Creates and submits Purchase Requisitions to the procurement team when needed, obtaining comparative pricing for agreed-upon equipment.
• Help assigns tasks or assist the Instrumentation Specialist #39;s work, ensuring accurate creation of the Instrument Bill of Material (BOM) and compliance with material selection, electrical classification, and certification requirements.
• Ability to size and select equipment, such as pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, air coolers, and pressure vessels, based on process requirements and engineering calculations.
• Gain the ability to review detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for different designs.
• Gain proficiency in creating specifications, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and standard operating procedures.

Technical Communicationamp; Guidance

• Communicates clearly with various project personnel and provides technical insight for resolution of technical, design and fabrication challenges.
• Communicates effectively between various departments (Engineering, Project Management, Drafting, Sales, QA/QC, Fabrication, Purchasing and Service)
• Help provide support to the Service group during equipment commissioning and start-up, which might involve site visits.
• Participates HAZOP meetings as required, contributing feedback from a technical standpoint.
• Gain familiarity with different NDE testing methods.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT SUPPORT (Weighting 35%)Project Collaboration

• Reviews all customer specifications applied to a project and assign technical spec reviews to the specific engineering service specialty (Mechanical, Process, Structural, etc.) on the project to ensure package is built to the agreed specifications.
• Review the projectquot;Scheduler quot; to ensure the timely completion of engineering deliverables.
• Review the Proposal and the project specifications accepted by the clients, ensuring adherence to them.
• Assists Project Manager with estimating costs and schedule impacts for change orders.
• Assist with the generation of Project Operating and Maintenance Manuals.
• Perform project final P amp;ID walkthrough.
• Participates in projectquot;Closeout quot; and startupquot;Lessons Learned quot; meetings, contributing feedback to Project Managers.

Client Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with clients to understand their requirements, address concerns, and provide technical solutions that align with their business needs.
• Participate in client meetings, technical presentations, and discussions.
• Assist in technical interactions with the customer.

QUALITY CONTROLamp; DOCUMENTATION COMPLIANCE (Weighting 20%)Quality Control Review

• Collaborate closely with clients to understand their requirements, address concerns, and provide technical solutions that align with their business needs.
• Participate in client meetings, technical presentations, and discussions.
• Assist in technical interactions with the customer.

Documentationamp; Reporting

• Prepares the preparation of vessel datasheets and forwards them to the mechanical engineer for review.
• Prepares the preparation of equipment datasheets for vessels, exchangers, pumps, etc.
• Help gatherquot;As Built quot; documentation.
• Help complete the project #39;squot;Ship Loose List quot; in coordination with the manufacturing team.
• Prepares any necessary calculations (e.g., pneumatic test requirements, pipe thickness calculations, etc.) and technical documentation (e.g., piping registration) as required.
• Reviews and help issue all drawings following Startec #39;s drawing approval procedures and project schedule.
• Review vendor drawings in accordance with the project schedule

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor #39;s degree in, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Enrollment as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or ability to obtain EIT status.
• Previous experience working in a gas processing and manufacturing related industry is considered an asset.
• Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
