Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work in conjunction with Management and Brewery staff to create and develop interesting and unique beer.
  • Assist in brewing processes in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Taking and recording brew data.
  • General job duties including but are not limited to management of kegging operations including receiving empties, washing kegs, filling kegs and managing inventory for the Sales team.
  • Regular draft line cleaning and other needed maintenance.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures to ensure highest quality and consistency standards.
  • Monitor and evaluate yeast as needed.
  • Ensure supply of raw materials is sufficient, communicating needs to management.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all areas of the brew house, cellar and related production areas.
  • Monitor gravities, temperatures and carbonations daily; implement and take ownership of QVBC Quality Management System.
  • Canning beer for the sales fridge, during off-brew times.
  • Responsible for maintaining Occupational Health & Safety and compliance.
  • May be asked to deliver and pick-up kegs, depending on business needs.
  • Attendance at monthly staff meetings. Assist with staff education.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Passion for quality beer
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Post-secondary education in brewing/brewery management (or working towards).
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Fast learner, must be able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to lift up to 55lbs
  • Smart Serve.
WORKING CONDITIONSBrewers will work primarily in the brew house oftentimes within close proximity to various workplace hazards. As such they are required to wear necessary PPE at all times. Brewers will perform tasks which involve standing, crouching, reaching and lifting and must be able to stand for up to 8 hours.Part-time hours: 20-30 per weekJob Types: Full-time, Part-time, PermanentSalary: From $15.00 per hourSchedule:
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • On call
  • Overtime
  • Weekends
COVID-19 considerations:Covid standards are in place throughout brewery.Experience:
