Job Description

Job Profile:Position Title: Global Travel ManagerDepartment: Corporate FinanceReports To: VP, Corporate ControllerJob Summary:Responsible for the ongoing strategic development and overall management of ATS’ global travel program with a strong business partnering approach. Accountable for the successful negotiation, partnering and management of travel policy and cost savings on a global basis. Global accountability for the delivery of safe, efficient, and cost effective travel services. Responsible for building strong working relationships with strategic partners such as travel agencies, airlines, car rental agencies, and hotels and deploying and managing travel processes, online tools, and tracking supplier performance, underpinned by the ATS Business Model to drive focus on People, Process and Performance.About ATS:ATS is an industry-leading automation solutions provider to many of the world’s most successful companies.   • Partner with finance, supply chain, HR and IT to own the ongoing maintenance and deployment of our global travel strategy
  • Manage a balance of strategic advancement of the travel program with operational support to travel administrators and travelers, partnering with the business to grow and support the program globally.
  • Advance technology applications to support global travel services for our employees, including supporting the integration of newly acquired businesses onto our global travel applicationg; partner with IT team on these initiatives
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to continue to identify pricing improvements and negotiate reduced airfare, hotel and car rates
  • Manage key vendor contracts; manage and review the performance of supplier relationships; ensure transparency of sourcing performance for all travel related spend and report on progress towards achievement of goals and targets at a global level
  • Analyze and benchmark data (internally and externally) and report on global standard KPIs, cost savings initiatives, as well as on continuous improvement (ABM) initiatives
  • Drive the adoption of the travel management tools throughout the organization where applicable through education and communication programs for both travel administrators and employees to maximize the lowest cost booking methods
  • Monitor and maintain employee travel portal along with continuous support and deployment of safety and security tools and technology for our travelers
  • Work with management to assist in identifying and updating travel related policies and procedures to ensure consistent application of travel policy/practices and high customer service levels
  • Coordinate with travel management vendor on large meetings for various functional teams
  • Build / formalize program for travel administrators to troubleshoot travel incidents and problems; support on an ad hoc basis where required
  • Support New Hire Orientation with Travel policy and process information
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures
Health and SafetyManagement: All managers are responsible for creating a positive safety culture and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace. It is the responsibility of each manager to ensure that employees receive regular training regarding health, safety and environmental matters. Each manager is also accountable to ensure that HSE matters are addressed in a timely manner and that compliance with both legislative and corporate requirements are maintained.Manager responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment include:
  • Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environment compliance
  • Hold team members accountable for health, safety and environmental compliance as part of the annual performance review process
  • Ensure that the requirements of the health, safety and environment management system are implemented and maintained
  • Carry out hazard assessments, inspections, and audits as required by legislative framework and/or corporate requirements
  • Ensure that training is provided to all departmental employees are per established training matrix
  • Implement appropriate corrective measures for unsafe conditions and unsafe acts
  • Ensure that appropriate equipment, materials and protective devices are provided and maintained in safe condition
  • Provide information, instruction and supervision to employees
  • Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of employees
Qualifications:Education:
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree
  • A professional designation from the travel industry such as CTE and/or GTP is an asset
Experience:
  • 10 years of experience in the travel management field
  • Strong international experience including travel management experience across multiple countries and continents
  • Proven business partnering track record along with experience leading global RFP’s and coordinating projects with a significant number of business units
  • Possess a solid understanding of legal requirements, and ability to provide input to legal on contracts
  • Excellent communication and change management skills with a proven history of managing change within large organizations
  • Confident and self-assured team player with excellent communication and negotiation skills with suppliers and the ability to be flexible and adaptive with colleagues
