We can offer you a challenging position, great colleagues and the opportunity to shape and develop your career in a truly international company – engaged in developing and delivering Digital Solutions that help to protect and manage water environments.Responsibilities and challengesYou will be part of a dedicated and highly qualified team of water technology professionals who are constantly innovating to find better ways of solving our clients problems and delivering actionable solutions. While hydraulic modelling is still a big part of our business, we are helping our clients leverage their modelling investments using real-time operational systems to support short-term operational decisions and long-term planning assessments.The main responsibilities and challenges in the job are:

  • Acquisition, processing and analysis of climate and system monitoring data
  • Development and calibration of hydraulic models for wastewater, stormwater, water distribution and river networks
  • Application of the model to assess system performance, identify constraints, and evaluate alternatives for improvement
  • Connection of real-time monitoring data and climate forecasts to models to predict system conditions and evaluate different operational scenarios
  • Preparation of technical memos and reports
  • Providing support for existing software and operational systems clients
  • Assisting with technical sales support for DHI’s water modelling software products
Qualifications and personal skillsWe are looking for a self-motivated team player with the following qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in engineering or applicable sciences
  • 5-7 years of professional experience developing and calibrating hydrologic and hydraulic models of municipal water infrastructure and surface drainage networks (experience with MIKE URBAN and/or MIKE FLOOD is desirable)
  • 5-7 years of experience using ArcGIS or QGIS for processing, manipulating and mapping of water infrastructure data sets
  • Proficiency with Python scripting and SQL – experience with automating online data download and processing is an asset
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • A valid Driver’s License in Canada
  • A valid Canadian Passport, Canadian Permanent Resident status, or a Canadian Work Visa
