Water Street OBGYN is looking for a part-time medical office assistant to join our team. Our office is a specialist obstetrics and gynecologist practice with 2 physicians and currently 1 office assistant. We are located in downtown Galt, serving a diverse population and aiming to provide patient centred inclusive care. The successful candidate will be responsible for patient communication (in-person, telephone and email), clinic and OR scheduling, filing via electronic medical records and other administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is reliable, friendly, and able to work independently. The successful candidate will be joining a team and will receive orientation and work collaboratively with our existing staff.The responsibilities include:· Scheduling appointments· Greeting patients and collecting health information· Maintaining health records, scanning, and faxing using an electronic medical record (Accuro EMR)· Communicating with patients and other members of the healthcare team via phone, email, and fax· Ensuring the office is tidy, sterilizing equipment and cleaning exam rooms between patients· Collaborating with team members to ensure the office runs smoothly· Any other tasks that are requested by the physicianQualifications· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal· Attention to detail when working independently· Exceptional professionalism and confidentiality· Experience in the medical field or holding a diploma in medical office administration (or similar)· Experience with scheduling and billing software is an asset – general computer proficiency is required· Organized approach to problems and new tasksBenefits· Flexible work environment including future work-from-home opportunities· Approximately 25-30 hour work week· No evening or weekend expectationsJob Type: Part-timePart-time hours: 25-30 per weekSalary: $17.00-$22.00 per hourSchedule:
