Powered by passionate people, we bring the right teams with the right skills together – offering both experience and regional expertise so companies can operate their day to day, confidently and successfully.Job DescriptionWHAT’S THE JOBJoin our NRB Modular Solutions team, where our people are driven by a desire to innovate, do social good, and move construction forward.As a Supervisor, Manufacturing, reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for managing and providing direction to lead hands and workers throughout the NRB production shops, to ensure the timely completion of quality products. In this role, you will direct and coordinate planning and the implementation of projects. You will maintain an up to date knowledge of codes and standards and ensure that projects being completed are in compliance at all times. You will also work in conjunction with the discipline Forepersons for planning, coordinating, and problem solving with all project or Plant related activities.Your work will include:

  • Direct and coordinate planning and implementation ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, and work order requirements.
  • Provide onsite direction and leadership for all of the activities of lead-hands, apprentices and tradespeople.
  • Plan and schedules work for the group ensuring proper distribution of assignment and adequate manning, space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties.
  • Create technical reports, documentation, calculations and sketches.
  • Prepare cost estimates and equipment layouts.
  • Monitor work activities, give directions to leadhands and lower level employees.
  • Inspect installations for quality, ensuring that codes and standards are met and to determine repair needs.
  • Direct Tool Box meetings to ensure understanding of work expectations and goals and communicate information to crewmembers on daily, weekly and monthly task.
  • Responsible for the quality of work performed in all manufactured products to ensure it meets all company or contract standards with recommendations for improvements where needed.
  • Have a sound working knowledge of all liabilities and enforcement of all policies and procedures regarding the Health and Safety regulations for the province of Ontario.

  • Completion of a Trade Certification from an accredited University or College considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ related experience in construction of similar products or experience in a similar high mix/low volume manufacturing environment.
  • Work requires practical knowledge of the application of lead hand techniques and methods normally acquired through 3 years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • Leadership qualities include ability to instruct and maintain effective and efficient productivity from departmental personnel.
  • Ability to train staff as necessary.
