Wanted Immediately: Osteopathic Manual PractitionerEstablished in 1996, the Kingsport Osteopathic Clinic is renowned for excellence in the osteopathic treatment of patients of all ages. We specialize in pediatrics, pre-natal and post-natal patients, families and children as well as a growing number of geriatric patients.The Clinic is located in a beautiful area of rural Nova Scotia overlooking the Minas Basin at the end of the Bay of Fundy which boasts the highest tides in the world.We are presently searching for a sensitive, full time, energetic osteopathic manual practitioner to join our highly qualified team.Requirements:The successful applicant will be English speaking, willing to work full time, be knowledgeable and energetic, possess good communication skills in dealing with patients and with other practitioners in a multi-disciplinary approach. Preference will be given to candidates with experience and/or advanced training in pediatrics or geriatrics.Duties Include:Review of history and intake forms with patients. Global, regional, specific testing and treatment skills. Osteopathic and orthopedic testing when required. Strength in perception and palpation to correctly diagnose somatic dysfunction. Applications of musculoskeletal techniques, visceral approaches, cranial osteopathic techniques, as well as a strong foundation in lymphatic and nervous system techniques.Education Requirements:The successful applicant will have graduated from a school approved by the Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners hold a Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree in Osteopathy.Licensing:Requires each practitioner to be a member in good standing with both the OAO and NSAO in order to uphold the standards of practice while pursuing becoming a regulated profession.Wages:Commensurate with experience and will be negotiated at the time of hire.
