There is so much to learn and grow and we love teaching you what we do!What You Will Be Working OnAs an Intern, you will be assisting to research and analyze data on various Ag economics projects. Your tasks may include:Analyze cost of production.Investigate pest/disease management practices within the local area.Statistical evaluation to identify best practices and data trends.Assist in establishing receiving and payment processes for company potato storagesTrack and evaluate McCain varieties and their performance in the factory.Promote relations between the company and growers through periodic farm and storage visits.Assist with raw product alignment and scheduling activities.Other projects as assigned.What You Will LearnFrom your first day, you are a full member of the Agriculture team and can see firsthand how our potatoes are grown and processed, from farm to fork. You will collaborate with the Agronomy, Field and Production staff as they make presentations and work directly with growers. Some experiences include:Conducting variety trialsDisease and insect mappingHands on experience with technologies used in today’s agricultural environmentWhat You Need to be SuccessfulWe’re looking for students who wants to apply their coursework in Agronomy, Ag Economics, Business Management or a closely related field to the food processing industry.
