Position Title: Maintenance SchedulerPosition Type: Regular - Full-TimePosition Location: CarberryRequisition ID: 19458McCain Foods (Canada) has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Scheduler in our Carberry, Manitoba Facility. This position serves to leverage their maintenance and communication skills to lead the planning and scheduling of maintenance in our facility. This position executes efficient and effective use of planning and scheduling all resources to conduct maintenance activities which result in minimum downtime and maximum productivity. In order to fulfill these responsibilities in the most effective manner, the Scheduler is empowered to manage work priority, develop job plans, define parts and material, define crafts and skills and engage the proper resources to develop a safe, effective and efficient work control plan. In addition, the Scheduler provides the equipment-related expertise and technical guidance on improving Preventive Maintenance activities.REPORTS TO: Plant Engineering Manager, or other as designated by the CompanyDuties and Responsibilities:

• Research, prioritize, schedule and drive the execution of maintenance work
• Produce and distribute a weekly maintenance schedule for all trades with input from the Planners and maintenance supervisors
• Track craft backlog and recommend resource changes to achieve a manageable backlog
• Uses SAP to develop a daily work schedule to secure adequate resources to complete preventative, predictive, and planned maintenance.
• Schedule maintenance activities such as inspections, instrument calibrations, and equipment preventive / corrective maintenance with a 3 to 4 week forward looking scheduling
• Provide labor estimates for internal and external resources
• Conduct regular review meetings for overdue, unplanned and pending work

• Promote proactive maintenance processes and develop strategies that will drive continuous improvement from an operational standpoint
  • Assist in the development of PM’s, predictive maintenance, and O.E.E (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
  • Supervise a small reliability-focused maintenance team
  • Maintain and improve CMMS arrangement of the plant – equipment hierarchy, BOM’s and risk register
• Integrate with other members of the Maintenance leadership team, work closely with Production supervision, and liaise with corporate support to coordinate execution of work
• Provide a safe working environment by assuring and enforcing strict adherence to all Provincial and Federal standards and McCain Policies

• Lead and / or participate in investigations as required
• Work with the maintenance personnel to ensure that the work is done properly and safely
• Perform other duties as directed by Plant Engineering Manager

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, or a related field
• Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast paced environment, in a food manufacturing facility
• Demonstrates initiative and ability to problem solve
• Familiar with Microsoft Office suite of programs, and an aptitude for learning new software programs
• Demonstrates discretion in dealing with sensitive matters and maintains confidentiality of information and documents
• Performs effectively under tight deadlines and changing priorities
• Possesses strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Manages multiple priorities in an efficient manner
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Prior experience using drafting software (i.e. autoCAD, solidworks etc) is considered an asset but not required
• Prior manufacturing work experience preferred but not required
