  • Position Summary:
The Role:We are seeking a results-oriented team player to join us as a Finance Ag Specialist in our Carberry, MB Region.You will be responsible for all accounting of the raw product (potatoes) being received, transferred, and sold at the production facilities in Manitoba (Carberry & Portage). To ensure good relationships with Growers and Vendors you will provide accurate and timely payments, as well as ensure inventory records are within the Potato Contract and Receiving Application.Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle all accounting responsibilities for the raw product being received, transferred, and sold at the plant
  • Track potato usage and inventories in the field and raw potato storage warehouse locations
  • Calculate and record grower’s payments for field direct as well as storage potatoes. Maintain accurate, complete records assuring pesticides, compliances, amendments and other required information is included through cooperation with the Field Department.
  • Collaborate with Field Department on updates or changes to Potato Contracts, Receiving Program, and Historical Potato Database systems
  • Participate in cross-department teams to assist in the completion of process improvement initiatives
  • Prepare and publish reports on potato procurement and grower accounts
  • Prepare month end reports for local and corporate business partners
Qualifications:
  • Agribusiness or Business Admin Diploma
  • Office and or accounting experience
  • Familiar with the agriculture and or manufacturing industries
  • Organized and detail oriented with large amounts of data
  • Able to manage time effectively and approaches deadlines proactively
  • Advanced with technology including accounting software (SAP) and Microsoft office programs (Excel)
